Challenger for Daytonia

Really looks great! I'm pretty sure that I once again would be interested in STOCK_CAR Racing..Then maybe one could tell what kind of car is running 1,2,3, with out being told!

Funny, well over a year ago I wrote Nascar and told them I had lost interest in the sport due to it being "diluted" with the cars all being the same with different stickers and that I had always thought of Nacar as an AMERICAN sport and wasn't happy Toyota was in it. That was BEFORE I learned Nascar had given Toyota some conssesions in order to get them competitive the first year in (rather than taking a few years of learning as Dodge had to do years back).
I told them if they pitted the Mustang, Challenger and Camaro in their Saturday Race of Cup Cars I would be most interested. That they all needed to weigh the same and by Mustang giving up it's weight advantage they would be allowed to run an IRS which would level the playing field. Moreover that whatever the same displacement established it had to be nothing the three currently had. And to keep HP from being bought by the highest bidder, each factory had to offer their CUP Crate engine in at least one dealership within every State for $25K from pan to intake.
I told them "THINK ABOUT THE BUZZ OF NASCAR HITTING EVERY FACIT OF RODDING AND RACING". IT WOULD TRUELY BRING CAR GUYS THAT HAVE NEVER HAD AN INTEREST IN THE SPORT. AND FOR THE DEALERS IT WOULD CREATE A SIMILAR BUZZ IN THE DEALERSHIPS WITH CUP INSPIRED PONY CARS".

I pretty much have to watch NASCAR...Tony Stewart is my wife's cousin. It's a good thing I like to watch. It gives us someone to root for!
Do we get free tickets? Heck no! No family benefits here!
^Wow, that's cool. I would be glued to the TV too if that was my scenario.

I am excited, as I am baffled that NASCAR is willing to try to make this stock car go back to STOCK CAR appearance. Aerodynamics alone seem to be a living nightmare. But, I would be watching NASCAR way more if they do something like this. Stock cars were how they started anyway, makes sense.

I'm sure they will be cookie cutter race cars that will say Challenger on it and look like all the rest of the cars.

Read all posts first...

and any attached articles, so you don't look like a fool. Then post. Some of you guys have egg on your faces for having diarrhea of the keyboard.

First, they're NOT CUP Cars, although the article gives that impression. They're Grand National cars. Second, they're obviously (see posted pics) not sticker cars. If they were sticker cars, they really wouldn't look different, would they?

Look at some of these articles from a google search (challenger mustang nascar) challenger mustang nascar - Google Search

Thumbs up

This is great news to hear this, because right now i am watching the brickyard 400 and having these two cars would be a HUGE boost to the auto industry and the buisness that is nascar. (makes me want to get my challenger faster lol)

I believe they are Nationwide Series cars, (the old Busch Series) I don't believe that series uses the Grand National term any longer.
Grand National was dropped from the series' title in 2003 as part of NASCAR's brand identity (the Grand National name was now used for the Busch East and Winston West series.
