Wallstreetman,
Would you trust your sourse with your life? A friend of ours has a son who works for Chrysler in Detroit and he said , "QUIT NAGGING ME ALREADY".(That's how he starts all his phone calls with me! "NO DEFINATE YES, YET" But he said they are HEAVILY leaning towards YES. No word on year, though.

Re: Insider Confirms Dodge Challenger Production Status?

SINCE ,I'M NOT AN INSIDER, I'LL JUST CONFIRM THIS THREAD BY CONFIRMING A CONFIRMING WORD FROM AN EMPLOYEE OF AN ILLINOIS DODGE DEALER THAT WAS WORKING THE CHALLENGER DISPLAY AREA AT THE CHICAGO AUTOSHOW ON FEBRUARY 19TH ; WHICH WAS, ' LOOK FOR IT OR IT'S COMING OUT IN THE FALL OF NEXT YEAR ' [ 'O7 ] SO I'M THEORIZING IT'LL BE "LABELED" A 2008 DODGE CHALLENGER !!!!!!!!!!! HE ALSO TOLD ME THAT HE HEARD THIS 2006 CHALLENGER CONCEPT WHEN IT WAS "ROLLED" IN AND INDICATED THAT THE SOUND OF IT WAS [ WELL I CANNOT REALLY REMEMBER THE EXACT WORDING ,BUT SOMETHING LIKE] AWESOME ,MAYBE UNBELIEVABLE ! p.s. TWO POINTS I DO HOPE ARE TWEAKED FOR THE PRODUCTION IS 1. THAT THE SEATS OR THE HEAD- RESTRAINT AREA IS MORE LIKE THE ORIGINAL 1970 ; MEANING EITHER ONE PIECE AND/OR MORE ORTHOPEDICALLY CORRECT-- WHICH IS UNLIKE WHAT I'VE SEEN IN THIS CONCEPT ! 2. THAT THE 'SPORT ' STEERING WHEEL IS THINNER [ FOR LONG DISTANCE TRAVEL= LESS FATIGUE IN THE HANDS] AND THE SLOTS IN THE THREE SUPPORT SLITS ARE INCREASED FOR ACTUAL FINGERTIP CONTROL STEERING LIKE ONE OF THE ORIGINAL STEERING WHEELS IN ONE OF THE '70 CHALLENGERS THAT I OWNED !

I want to second third and fourth this statement. I have a somewhat bad neck and when I'm forced to tilt my head forward for any extended length of time it gives me serious headaches. Just looking at the headrest of that Challenger concept made my head throb. I couldn't spend more than an hour or two driving the car without the effects being felt. Plus the headrest area looks kinda uninspired as well IMHO (though the seats look good).

I'm sure there's something DCX could do to correct this.

Re: Insider Confirms Dodge Challenger Production Status?

Well, I'm, Not Sure Of The Srt-8 Seats But The Ones I Saw Were A Side View Of The '06 Challenger Concept. They Not Only Have A Separate Piece For The ' Head Restraint ' But Have An Awkward "downward" Type Of Tilt To Them ...which I See In Too Many Vehicles . I Mean , I'm Not An Orthopedic Doc Or Even A Real Doctor.... But {In The Past And Less Right Now }..due TO Extensive Travelling Across The Whole U.s. Due To/from Being A Tour Caddy On The Various Pro Golf Tours . When I Had My First '70 Challenger [ Lil 318] Those Seats Were And Still Are The Best Feeling/designed Seats I've Had The Pleasure Of Being In >> One Piece And Tapered Just Right Upward Towards The Head/neck Area ! I Mean I Sometimes Wonder About These Designers And People Who Test Or Who Are Supposed To Test These Things.....I Think They Just Go 'round The Track 10 Times Instead Of 2,3,5 Or Even 700 Miles At A Time !!! Same Thing With The Steering Wheel >> The Challenger Had A Great Thinness For Comfort .... Unlike All Or A Great Majority Of Steering Wheels Of The Last Quarter Century ...ok And Yeah I Realize The "feds" Have A Little To Do With That : With The Implementation Of The Safety Bag Requirements !! I'm Wondering If Titanium Could Be Utilized For Strength To Shrink The Steering Wheel Thickness......i'm Sick Of The Golf Club Manufacturers Taking It All.......the 'boys' Are Hitting The Ball Way Too Far ....it's Out Of Control !!!!!!!

YAAAHHHH ,THE '70 ORIGINALS HAVE ALWAYS BEEN AWESOME ! I THINK IF THEY JUST IMPROVE THE ORIGINALS WITH MODERN MATERIALS [ NO LEATHER FOR ME AT ALL ! ] , SAY WITH A HEMP AND KEVLAR WEAVE : IT'LL BE FINE ! YEH, SEE THOSE CONCEPT SEAT HEAD REST/RESTRAINT... HAVE AN AWKWARD TILT TO THEM . HAVE NOT SEEN THE SRT-8 SEATS THAT "VANISHING POINT" MENTIONED .
