Re: Insider Confirms Dodge Challenger Production Status?

Gang,

Don't forget that the specs said that they knocked off 4" off the length of the car...that has to count for some weight loss....plus the Carbon Fiber hood helps.

So, if your wheel weighs 30 pounds and you reduce that to 15, its like you shaved 150 lbs off the car.
Oh I understand that, and agree. But I really don't think you will see less than 19" or 20" wheels on this thing. And like I said, if they do, it's going to look funny.

...who cares what car weighs!!....it looks fantastic...and its going to tear up the asphalt, while handling like a rail....dump in the 6.4L (392) 500++ HP motor in the srt-8 version, and you'll have a low 12's car......no problem.

I would be suprised if they used 19" or 20" wheels from the factory. I would not be suprised to see 17" wheels as standard and 18" or 19" offerings as optional.

It would be nice if I were wrong, but due to cost constraints I think that would be more realistic.

Re: Insider Confirms Dodge Challenger Production Status?

I think the srt-8 version will have 19 or 20's on them for sure.

Yeah, who knows what they will do. They have 20"x9" wheels at their disposal if they so wish (SRT8 wheels from the Charger). Promising sign though is that the Caliber R/T comes with 18" wheels for a starting price of $20k.
