Re: Mopar unveiling Dodge Challenger drag race pack on July 13
The Dodge site still doesn't have the Ordering Guidelines up yet.
But somebady messed up a week or so ago and they put some news and very basic ordering info about it online saying that you were to fax a form in.
Then they went "oops" and pulled the description of the process, until they actually get the fax form finished.
Shouldn't be long, but Dodge is very interested in getting these into the "right" hands, so if you don't have a racing team, and NHRA super stock or better drivers on your team, you probably won't see an early one of these.
Later on, after the early cars (read that as 100) get some history, Dodge may turn more cars loose. They are committed to at least 100, but can go as far over that as they wish, and since they ship the bare carcases out for the build, it doesn't have much impact on manufacturing. So as long as they can make money with them, they can roll as many as they want.
Also in answer to a question asked earlier, the weight is 1000 less than the SRT8 Challenger which weights in at 4100 lbs. So you will be pushing 3100 lbs with 525 hp into a dana 60 rearend that you can gear how you want, if you don't like what you get.
Oh yes, have a trailer ready, because they have to picked up in detroit. '-)
