Report: Broward Country Sheriff's Office Unveils Dodge Challenger R/T Cruiser

What's the best way to make a car (any car) cool, to give it immediate interweb fame and ensure it becomes a highly searched item in Google Images? Why, turn it into a police cruiser of course!

Such a thing has just been done by the blue and white (er… green and white?) at the Broward County Sheriff's office in Southern Florida. The car is a shiny new Dodge Challenger R/T and it looks even more intimidating with that big light-bar up top and the county sheriff's white and green paint scheme.

Check out the gallery of photos at the link below and try and remember (as hard as it might be) to keep your speed down while traveling along southern Florida's flat and straight highways. Otherwise, you might get to see this R/T up close.

The LAPD has two black undercover Challengers. Not sure how undercover you can be in a Challenger.

All things considered, its a waste of tax payers money. Its singular use renders it as a ticket use only.

Taxpayer.

Oh, c'mon guys lighten up with the bashing -- police depts and highway patrol have had fox-bodied Mustang interceptors in many states, including CHP for years.... what about motorcycle cops... or the cost of a helicopter to patrol freeways... all those are hopefully part of an overall cohesive effort. Having this snazzy-looking and singular tool in their belt could be a very smart thing.

My knee jerk reaction is to defend what Ive said, but im not going to. I have had to cut back due to the sad state of affairs. I guess I figured what I support should have to as well.

Police Challengers

Guys! these are hunters, not gatherers, who cares if you can put a prisoner in the back? with the big 3 making all these fast cars they know there's going to be a lot more speeding going on. These clowns catch us then send their buddies to pick us up. In my case living in Ontario Canada, they can charge you over 50kms in any zone up to $10000 and impound your car! Being cops, they get to enjoy the ride lol.

In many cases, high-profile cars like that are also used for recruiting.
