SRT Engineers Chat Session - 10/15/08 6pm - 8pm EST


The next SRT Engineering chat session is scheduled for Wednesday, October 15th. The session will run from from 6pm to 8pm EST and will be at the Dodge Charger Forum. The topic of discussion will center around the 300 and the Charger, but as usual all SRT related questions on current products are welcome. Please do not ask questions about the Dodge Hornet Concept.

A thread has already been created and will be unlocked a few hours prior to the chat session at which time you will be able to start posting your questions.

MY NEW 2008 DODGE CHALLENGER 6.1L HAS A PROBLEM WITH NOISE IN THE VALVE TRAIN IN THE MORNING AND AFTER THE CAR HAS BEEN SITTING FOR OVER AN HOUR.YOU START THE CAR UP AND THE VAVLE TRAIN MAKES NOISE LIKE IT NEEDES LIFTERS FOR ABOUT 1 1/2 MINUTES AND THEN THE OIL PRESSURE BUILDS UP AND IT GOES AWAY. BEEN TO DEALER TWICE AT 500 MILES THEY TOLD ME THAT THEY CALLED CHRYSLER AND THEY TOLD THEM THE MOTOR HAS TO BREAK IN.AT 1000 MILES THE NOISE IS GETTING WORST. THE DEALER TOLD ME THAT ITS NORMAL FOR NOW. NOW THE NOISE IS GETTING WORST. I'V BEEN A TECH FOR 30 YEARS AND I OWN MY OWN SHOP. I KNOW I'M GETTING THE ROUND ABOUT. IS THERE ANYONE OUT THERE THAT HAS ANY INFO THAT CAN HELP ME ON THIS. THE DEALER OR CHYSLER WONT. MY #847 867 9124 OR gvshell@aol.com Is there a way of talking on the phone with a srt person I need help?

all of the hemis have this noise with the lifters. Its just the nature of the beast. There was a bulletin out a while back that suggested changing the oil to reduce this noise. I cant remember what grade oil it was though.
