Re: Is it time for the Dodge Hornet?

Neat looking thing. They forgot the other hood vent though.

Re: Is it time for the Dodge Hornet?

not feeling the Hornet. seems like the caliber srt-4 already has that position in the lineup? and i think the caliber is better looking. the hornet looks like a scion xB with a bodykit.

Re: Is it time for the Dodge Hornet?

The Hornet and the Caliber aren't even in the same class of cars. The Hornet will be a smaller vehicle than the Caliber and should be more fuel efficient.

Re: Is it time for the Dodge Hornet?

With the recent change in design plans what is going to happen to this car? If they're losing the "edge" styling this car can't possibly end up looking like the concept. And how much longer before it's on the streets? Something tells me this'll be a too little too late situation.

Also I was unaware this was "china junk", I must not be quite as educated.

Re: Is it time for the Dodge Hornet?

It's not official who is going to build it yet, but it will not be Dodge. Either Nissan or Chery (Chinese car maker). Chrysler is in bed with both of them. Dodge is going to let Nissan build the Titan on the 09 Ram's frame and rumor has it Nissan will build a car for Dodge based off the Versa's frame.

Re: Is it time for the Dodge Hornet?

2006 Dodge Hornet concept cars and the 2009 Dodge Hornet production cars
Chrysler said that Chery's platform was to substandard to place a Dodge, Jeep or Chrysler badge on.

Rumor has it they will also be letting nissan use the hemi. I would at least make them change the name to HEMISAN.

Unfortunately it is due to price. Turns out dodge can put the hemi in the truck cheaper than it would be for nissan to handle the motor. I do think the modern hemi is a well built motor. Not sure about it's real world longevity. It will feel akward knowing the american icon hemi nameplate will be on an asian manufacturers truck. Will they start putting it in the maxima? I am glad that dodge is playing all cards. It is tough for the american companies right now. If I had to choose between dodge going out of business and the hemi going overseas I say do what you can so we can still be able to buy these bada$$ rides they have been churning out. Next step would be to take advantage of these absurd fuel costs and start building them in america again to boost "our" economy and provide jobs for the americans who buy their product. Would save a bunch on shipping, no?
