Hey guys, question here, I finally decided to buy an aux cord because I've been told it makes a big difference in audio quality over Bluetooth, did research, bought what was supposedly the highest recommended cord, plugged it in and... There's a really loud squeal, even during music I can hear it in the background, and between songs it's ridiculous. Tried rotating the cord, didn't help, tried a different cord, same issue, even tried a different phone, same issue, any ideas what I could do to get this fixed before having to bring the car into a dealership? It's a 2015 Challenger SRT, and if it helps, I have some aftermarket audio parts such as speakers, amps, and a DSP.
I had this on my Ram and it was because the plug was not seating all the way. After fiddling with it a while it worked fine, I think when new or not used for a while the cables don't seat correctly.
I have the same issue in my titan, and it's one of two things. The cord doesn't seat properly as has been said, or in my case more often is when I'm charging my phone. If I have a charging cord and an aux cord in my phone it will make a noise like you described until one or the other is unplugged
