I want more VOLUME from my ipod touch in my base model radio. Possible?

I connect my ipod touch (3rd generation - looks like an iphone without the phone part...nowadays it seems its a toy relegated to kids, but I digress). Anyway, I am always at the end of my volume with nowhere to go...I don';t want nav I just want a blastin radio that will distort to all heck when I gett to volume number 34. However, with my ipod connected via the USB, it never gets there...

So, any ideas to get my situation louder inside?

Since you have it connected via USB there's no "volume" coming from the iPod, the radio is playing the music files directly off the device. I have an iPod Classic connected via USB to the base radio (RES? 130?) and I have no problem with the volume.

It's a long shot, but perhaps did you mess with the "volume adjustment" option for songs within iTunes? Launch iTunes, right-click on a song, select "Get Info", click the "Options" tab and look at the "Volume Adjustment" setting. Is it at "None" or is the slider moved?

I also have MP3s on a USB stick and get the same volume level as the iPod, the iPod just holds more music.

Thanks, I pretty much expected that but it's nice to hear other people's similar experience...I will check on the songs and pump up the volume if possible! Cheers.

I use a 2nd gen iPod touch in my car connected to the aux jack. It's plenty loud for me.

Yeah, I know, I can do that...then I lose the out of the way strorage and interconnection with the radio (selecting playlists, voice control, etc), not to mention charging...but yeah, I may try it for a bit to see what I am missing...

I picked up a device that the Touch mates to and plays thru the FM signal. It also charges the Ipod. I also have another that uses the 12V and it charges and plays thru the aux plug. No volume issues with either.

Yeah, I goofed...38 is the high on the volume...why not 40? haha...I guess we can conclude there is no way to get more volume of sound out of an ipod when connected through the USB jack. Of course, a better stereo system would do that...I would just hate to lose or mess with the current status of having voice activation, bluetooth, etc. I'll use the aux jack for a spell and see how it goes.

many new units come with voice activation and bluetooth. I hate losing the stock look since it melds so well but aftermarket units just blow away the quality of the OEM units.

The stock head unit clips around volume 26, just for the record.
