If your "every possible option" includes the optional navigation version of the 8.4 head unit, you should have HD Radio if I'm not mistaken. The non-nav 8.4 head unit doesn't have HD.
Maybe that was poorly worded. I guess not every possible option...
I chose the HK Premium Sound Group, The Technology Group, Blacktop Package, Super Track Pak and the Driver Convenience Group. I didn't see any thing when building the car on the website that said add nav radio or hd radio. I even had the car built for me as there weren't any available with the options I choose.
Also, I could care less about the Nav, I just want the HD.
That sucks. I've been frustrated with the bloated packages/options that force you to pay for things you don't want too, or worse, replace something you wanted from a lower trim.
As far as the website, when you build the car you pick colors, packages, then options. It defaults to exterior options (wheels, stripes, sunroof, etc). You have to click "interior" on that options tab to see the nav/hd radio option. Definitely not the most user friendly site design.
HD Radio comes only with the optional 8.4AN Navigation Radio so if you did not order NAV then you won't have HD. The dealer can flash for the NAV but that still won't get you the HD, sorry.
So my only option is to buy a new radio? Have you heard of anyone doing that and if so do you get credit for the old one? (Upgrade fee vs buying the new one and throwing the old away...)
Well, I guess it's my fault... Freak! I build the 'perfect car' for me... waited 7 weeks for it to be built and delivered, and D'OH! Well I guess I will contact my dealer and see what options I have.
I understand your dissapointment, but is non HD Radio the only thing you are missing? I guess it is cool and all, I never use it, satelite radio and the sound of that hemi
you can add the Nav feature, but you don't gain the HD radio - the best thing audio wise is use high res media (not MP3) on either the USB stick or SD Card.
Radio still has compression and won't approach the quality of high-res media. and the satellite still doesn't sound good, regardless of which audio option you have.
