Passed on a Hellcat, kind of regret it, kind of don't???

First of all, to be clear I want to get a Hellcat someday.

Could have got a '16 A8 charcoal gray with black stripes and black wheels with black interior. 2400 miles. $54,500. I feel like the price is right, it's not exactly the color combo I want though. I could still probably pick it up within the next couple days. Oh to hear that blower whine... I feel like the deals will only get better though and I want a black or high impact color car for a Hellcat, and with two kids I should probably learn to love the Charger too as they are only growing at 10 and 3 years old.

Anyone else starting to see better deals on Hellcats?

Now: '15 R/T Scat Pack A8 Pitch Black, Appearance Group, Leather, SG II 12.68@109.2 DA 6500(11.8@116.2 corrected)
-catch can, Hellcat airbox/filter, 180 tstat, C-Quartz, ceramic tint, clear bra...and some other crap too

I think the deals will get better yet.. I too passed on a Hellcat because the deal wasn't quite good enough. 15 A8 1600 mi for $52,900. Dealer has had it 6 weeks and dropped $3k from original price of $55,900. I offered $51,000 and dealer said no. If it was a great price at $52,900, it would have sold already. Dealer has contacted me twice 'just checking in'. Now I'm re-thinking my offer.

There will always be another deal. You'll know it when it comes. For me personally if it's not the color and options I want, I'll gladly pass on it no matter how good of a deal it is. Be patient grasshopper

I have learned that I have seriously lost money on not getting what I really wanted and then what I really wanted does show up down the road, I lose my shirt trading in! Color is so important to me as well as getting those options I crave! Don't cave in just for the horsepower increase! I use to drive SRT8s, but in the last few years I only purchased R/Ts. I drive my cars daily and I like that I have something really quick and loud, I can't even go above 70 mph on most days with the traffic conditions here. There is no way to really open up any car here and frankly I am really content. Now that's not to say if I was offered a Hellcat for an awesome price that I wouldn't consider it!!! But it would sit most days in the garage, while I commuted with my utility vehicle to and from work. I see Hellcats everywhere now, in show rooms on the roads and the prices are getting better and better as they keep making so many! I think I have seen one SRT in the past year btw and just a hand full of Scat Packs. I see a Hellcat around here about once or twice a week!

I'm interested in a Hellcat as well but I would be a little apprehensive about buying used as the car could've been dogged out and traded in. I ordered my SP new and only put a little over 1k miles on it so far (winter storage). Do you guys think it's worth it to trade?

I'm in the same situation, in traffic-crowded New Jersey. I have made countless mods to my 2009 Hemi-orange Challenger SRT and I am quite happy with it. It's plenty fast to get me into a lot of trouble.

Exactly the thought that ran through my mind after test driving a Scat Pack. Plus there was no way I was forking over 10k ADM for a Hellcat, which was common at the time. The reality for me in NJ and FL is that 40mph is the max speed for 99% of my daily travels because of traffic. I may as well be driving a sh*tbox like everyone else.

My problem was more with the insurance. It's almost double of what I pay for the Scat Pack and since I use my car as a daily driver, I didn't want to blow through the warranty in 2.5 years especially with some of the issues with the supercharger.

In another couple of years the 2015s will probably be in the 30s. I might pick one up then.

COLOR is ABSOLUTELY the MOST IMPORTANT OPTION, it will save you lusting after another car. High Impact colors are the only ones I consider. There's an ocean of black, white, and grays/silvers out there. Black looks awesome when detailed but we all know the downside of that color. constant maintenance.
