I've been researching meth injection and talked to a Cat owner doing the same. He concluded there may be an issue affecting the coating on the S.C. twin screws so didn't pull the trigger on it. Keep asking questions and let us know what you find.
Well going with a Snow kit, the rumor going around is it will mess up coating, that is a myth according to Snow, and several tuners have put it on their 900hp plus cars and have no problems. If it messes up the coating I will let you know and since you can get the S/C rebuilt for around $1800 I will take that chance.
Word on the street is NOT recommended on the screw or Roots style S.C. I'm sure Snow does not agree since they won't have to stand behind any damage unless you can prove positive their setup did something.
See that's the problem is word on the Street no Hard evidence it will, and the owner of Snow seemed pretty confident that is was safe and he also said he has a working reputation with, all the S/C companies out there, and some of the top tuners on the east coast have been putting it on the high HP cars for months, so I will take the chance and see, worse case I have to rebuild the S/C and have a better one when it's all over with. but thanks for you input.
Well if some people would actually do some research and not listen to the crowd you would find out it's safe, and people have been using it for a while, and it doesn't harm the coating because the methanol actually is in small amounts and in a mist and not touching the blades long enough to do any damage. But thanks for you useful input
You can run the injection but install the nozzle on the intake runner where it is past the rotor pack. I'm sure the $1800 rebuild cost is for bearings and coupler and not the rotor pack. The rotor has a Teflon coating. About the only supercharger I am aware of that is does not strip the rotors is the Kenne Bell because they have a anodized coating.
