Re: Challenger Powertrain Question - Part 1 - Choose your Powertrain

hello this is the first real muscle car built since the 70 era that has the real muscle look. owned and worked for Ford for 20 years wil buy this in a min if its released .Dodge hit the nail on the head building this prototype, Ford and Chevy missed the boat on this one ! just hope the price is not too high so the average person can afford it ?.

Re: Challenger Powertrain Question - Part 1 - Choose your Powertrain

I saw this link on SRTForums and had to voice my opinion. PLEASE BUILD THIS CAR!!! We are in our early 30's, my wife drives a srt-4 and I was ready to palce an order for a new Shelby GT500 this summer until I saw the concept Challenger. If this car is given the greenlight, and it is offered in a manual, I will gladly wait 2 years and pass on the stang to have that stunning mopar sitting in the garage. The 6.1 is great but if something bigger was offered to compete with the Shelby in the horsepower game that would be FANTASTIC!!! Please, Please, Please build this car so I don't have to "settle" for the Cobra.

Long live Mother Mopar!

Welcome c-bass,...and your right about the challenger needing a 6.4l srt-8 version to compete with the Shelby GT500.....but don't ever disregard the Shelby, as that is one cool lookin' muscle car as well....I'm waiting to see how this whole thing plays out.

Re: Challenger Powertrain Question - Part 1 - Choose your Powertrain

seeing as how this would most likley be my weekend warrior i would want the six speed. im almost done with school now and have a kid on the way so i'm buying a sedan pretty soon. but down the line that sedan will belong to my wife. i'll most likley have a truck in a year, probably a ram, or rampage if it comes out. but the challenger is going to be all mine. face it. dodge is the only american company coming out with cars that make you feel good about owning em right now.

Re: Challenger Powertrain Question - Part 1 - Choose your Powertrain

Thanks Vanishing Point. You are right, the Cobra is an incrediable machine that can in no way be disregarded. I was simply floored when they announced plans to build it. Nearly 500 horsepower in a package that looks like that, and for the price!!, who could see this happening 10 years ago! But this new Challenger... Well who am I to preach to the choir.

Come on Dodge, Throw down the hammer - I'll take mine with the 6.4, 6 speed and sublime green if you got it.
