If they don't offer a manual tranny in it...I'll take my cash and buy a 70-74 ebody and get what I want. If DCX screws this up...I'll never buy another vehicle of theirs!

Re: Challenger Powertrain Question - Part 2 - Transmission Selection

seeing as how this would most likley be my weekend warrior i would want the six speed. im almost done with school now and have a kid on the way so i'm buying a sedan pretty soon. but down the line that sedan will belong to my wife. i'll most likley have a truck in a year, probably a ram, or rampage if it comes out. but the challenger is going to be all mine. face it. dodge is the only american company coming out with cars that make you feel good about owning em right now.

Re: Challenger Powertrain Question - Part 2 - Transmission Selection

Lookin for an auto here! A 6 speed might be fun to drive but an auto on the track will give you more consistent times, no worries about burning the clutch up. Let us chose our rear end gear ratio too. Install a higher stall speed torque converter and watch the times come down. I want mine for 1/4 mile duty.

Re: Challenger Powertrain Question - Part 2 - Transmission Selection

WOW, thats a hard hit, not to offer a 6speed or atleast a 5. It would be hard for me to buy without this option. But if the car comes out like it should it would be hard for me not to buy. A 6.4 engine would really have me jumping up and down.

Re: Challenger Powertrain Question - Part 2 - Transmission Selection

Today, I was reading AGAIN with great pleasure some car mags that had articles about our challenger and I noticed that one of them was talking about a 6 speed AUTO in the future challenger ( 2009 in that article ) and even mentionned that the clutch pedal in the concept was a decoy!

I remember also reading about a 6 speed AUTO somewhere on the internet.

IS IT REALLY A 6 SPEED MANUAL IN THE CONCEPT!

Any of you have information on this!
