Re: Challenger Powertrain Question - Part 2 - Transmission Selection

I Want, I DEMAND... that Chrysler build this car with a Hemi AND a Manual Transmission!!!! Give the people want they want... and they Will give you unbelievable sales figures!

Don't go all the way and build this car, and then "puss out" by only offering an automatic tranny! WHY?

You CANNOT be half-hearted in building this car! You must be True to the Mopar Faithful out there!

Again... I WILL buy this car, But only with a Hemi and a Manual Tranny!

Mopar Rules!

Re: Challenger Powertrain Question - Part 2 - Transmission Selection

ATTN: Dodge
ive saved every single penny for the last year waiting for the challenger - i have worked my A$$ off on overtime for a long time and i have the cash money waiting to hand you for something that looks just like the concept photos, and has a big hemi in it and the 6 speed manual transmission. For what the dodge dealers are going to end up tacking onto the cars i could buy a corvette, the souped up ford, or just wait for the retro camaro.

You have just broke your ties with Germany and are once again a US owned company - id love to give you my hard earned money to reward you for being a US company again, but first you have to help me by giving me something i want, and i dont want an automatic transmission for a performance car with a hemi engine for Pete's sake!!

About the only other thing i could hope for would be to see it built with U.S. labor, on U.S. soil, but id settle for the big hemi and the 6 speed - that would seal the deal for me, and id hand you the money tomorrow.

my opinions only

Re: Challenger Powertrain Question - Part 2 - Transmission Selection

Guys Go To Nhra An Look Up The Stock Class Records And You Will See That The Auto Are With In A Tenth And In Some Classes There Faster Than A Stick Car. With Our Halfshafts I See Some Big Problems There Just Like The Vetts Have Now. I Could Take The Car With Or Without The 6 Speed. I Have An 06 Srt-8 Magnum Now And B4 That A Srt-4 And I Dont Miss The Stick.

Re: Challenger Powertrain Question - Part 2 - Transmission Selection

If I wanted an automatic, I would've already bought what they are calling a Charger. The automatics they are putting behind the Hemis in the cars and in the trucks have almost 30% driveline loss and are by no means any where near being up to the task of handling any sort of power.

Put a six speed Tremec with a heavy duty hydraulic clutch in the Chally, and let the PCM be programmable...that's all I ask!
