Re: Challenger Powertrain Question - Part 2 - Transmission Selection

Prefer a manual, but would accept an auto. if I have too!!! Please offer a v6 (I know that is not popular) because I'm concerned about gas prices & costs of the v8s. I'm just very concerned about the price of the Challenger & I want one really bad!!!!!

Re: Challenger Powertrain Question - Part 2 - Transmission Selection

I think a manual is the key to the Challengers success. Automatic only would be a mistake.

Re: Challenger Powertrain Question - Part 2 - Transmission Selection

Every MOPAR that I've owned has been a standard, I'm on my 5th. Not about to change my ways.

I agree, that would make a lot of sense. There's people out there who've never owned a standard, or even know how to drive one for that matter. DCX should market to a broad spectrum of potential buyers. Offfering both would be wise.

Thumbs up Re: Challenger Powertrain Question - Part 2 - Transmission Selection

For drag racing a auto is better & more reliable/consistent.

However it seems like having a stick (with a pistol grip shifter) is part of the enjoyment of owning a MOPAR!

Surley, they'll bring back the pistol grip??

So right! The more people you appeal to the better!

Re: Challenger Powertrain Question - Part 2 - Transmission Selection

I'd prefer the manual but would buy the car with an auto. I've got a vette for auto-x so the Challenger will be the drag car.
