I recently completed a 2,800 mile road trip in just under 7 full days. The car is incredibily comfortable and the ride is extremely well mannered. That said, I think a firmer suspension package should be offered.

(I know this isn't the place...but I'd like to put a shameless plea in to address the terrible wheel hop problem....thanks for listening)

I liked the ride from the first time I drove the car. That said, I'd like it to be a bit stiffer for better cornering and a bit lower, but I wouldn't want it to be so stiff that it's no longer comfortable for a daily cruiser. Having an option to raise the chassis when going over speed bumps or steep driveways would be cool, but probably too expensive. And yes, the annoying wheel hop has got to be fixed.

I Think It's To Early To Judge The Suspension, If It Is Anything Like My 2006 Charger Srt Making All Kinds Of Rumbleing Noises With 5,800 Mi On It And Having Front Sway Bar End Links Worn Out And Replaced The Suspension Will Leave A Lot To Be Desired.
I Hope My 2009 Srt Challenger Will Be A Lot Stronger.

I would say that it is a perfect balance. I really like the comfort and feel when highway driving and the feel of hauling it around harns and twists. The only thing I would change is to replace all of the rubber bushings with Delrin or Urathane. I know I can have this done and I intend to, but would be nice from the factory.

I think a more aggressive setup should have been offered for the enthusiasts who like to push there cars. We all know that our LX and LC platforms are capable of much more.

Coilovers are usually not in the price range of muscle cars... Perhaps there will be some "EPICSRT" 550hp with coilovers for what $55K? The SRT stuff is a great compromise for performance and comfort. Half way between the Charger SRT and the 300 SRT. Of course hopeing for more is also assuming Fiat doesn't pull the Hemi V8 and stick turbo 4 bangers in our cars. Oh well, at least they will finally make them light????

SRT suspension = great ride, very good handling / responsiveness, BUT as said before....
SRT8 Challenger + 6 speed manual + F1's = "Knock your fillings out" WHEEL HOP.
GOTTA GET RID OF THE WHEEL HOP!!!

I thought Dodge offered a suspension upgrade for the '08 - '09 Challengers in the performance catalog... I downloaded it and searched, though, and couldn't find it.

Looking at the threads, though, it's obvious a lot of guys are lowering their cars, especially the R/Ts. Several aftermarket kits are available, with varying degrees of drop and performance. I opted to replace the front springs with ones from the SRT8, and I'm satisfied, although I will probably replace the sway bars front and back, add the strut tower brace, and swap out the brakes for the SRT8 Brembos... I don't race the car, but there are a lot of twisty-turney roads out here I would love to tackle with a bit more gusto...

I think it would be nice to have one offered by Mopar, and covered under the warranty... like the cat-back exhaust system (made by Corsa).

The Popular Mechanics Challenger make-over
Eco + Muscle: 2009 Your Drive Makeover
used a combination of a Pedders/Bilsten kit and one from Razors Edge. Now that's probably more of a performance-oriented kit than most of us would want to have to pay for, but it seems to me Dodge could come up with something close to that level of performance at a reduced price, and offer it as an option...

I'd buy it...

I changed mine to the Eibach Pro lowering kit with sway bars. What a difference. Rides great still. May hit the bumps a little harder, but damn it corners great.

Exceptional balance of performance and comfort. I wouldn't change a thing.

Note attached g-meter- .99g in the turns and on braking on a road course. Stock tires. Hammered Porsche's costing twice as much all day at the track.

I use my SRT8 Challenger as a daily driver- compliance, rebound, compression are all spot on. Pitch and roll are perfect; it works great on the track and street. 99% of the miles for these cars are on the street.

The suspension is one of the many incredible parts of this car- you guys nailed this. Offer something firmer as an option for the 20 something crowd; I wouldn't compromise the primary demographic though.

Super job.
