I don't have any long term experience with XPel. I had the hood of a previous car done about 15 years ago and it has yellowed quite a bit. What is the expected life of XPel, and other films for comparison?

I was thinking of doing Ceramic Pro on mine this spring (just bought it),

I was told that with the old films it was the adhesive they used that turned yellow and not the film itself. The adhesives they use now is not supposed to yellow. I had the nose and part of the hood covered with Suntech film. I guess time will tell if what I was told is true. The paint still shines covered with the protective film but a trained eye (like my detailer) can tell if the car is covered or not. To be honest I can't see a difference in the shine between the part of the hood that is covered and the part that is not. If the light hits the hood in a certain way I can see the line of where the cover ends.

I can't tell it's there. Looks just as shiny as the rest of the car. Warranty is for 10 years. We'll see how it goes. I trust the guy that did the work.

2017 GT - Destroyer Grey, Black side stripe, CQuartz-UK on paint, Xpel on nose
- Researching mods...

Xpel is one of the best things I've done to my car. Keeps the paint perfect and gives me peace of mind. I can't even tell it's on there. I didn't have it on my 15 and after a year it was peppered with chips. Not one chip on my HC with 4500 miles on it.
