If I don't buy the challenger, it will be because of its weight. I have owned <3KLb cars, and the handling difference is dramatic, and is the power advantage. I read elwhere an estimated weight of 4100 Lbs for the Challenger, and that would be a dealbreaker for me. I would say anything over 3600 lbs makes this car a pretty'ed up 300 and not a ponycar!

well the gt500 weighs over 3600 no matter how much you hate it or like it you can't deny that it started the pony car wars and is thus in my book always a pony car
i do like mustangs but am deffinetlly still favored toward te challenger

Guys you nailed it on the look, the engine the tranny (provided you keep the 6 speed stick!). If you rip out the 4 inches and some sound deadener surely you can get it down to 3800-3900 lbs? right..?

Getting the car to weigh 3800 should not be a problem. The only questions is if Chrysler will build it that way. If they want this car to beat the Mustang GT and hang with Shelby GT500 on acceleration, braking and handling they better have it weigh no more than 3800 lbs.

Shipping Weight On The Charger R/t Is 3995 Now. Chrysler 300c Is 3980.so Even With The 2 Door I Still See About 3900 For The Shipping Weight.

3500-3600lb range to compete against the upcoming camaro and latest SVT GT500.
Then add the 6.4 for the same power output as the FI GT 500
