What is the deal with the 180 deg tstat that everybody talks about. They guys at the SRT track experience were saying that it was nothing but snake oil. Is there anything to by gained with the lower tstat. It regularly gets over 100 deg in my town during the summer.
Hi from the Caliber forums
I know we can't ask about future products so I won't "ask" if your going to come out with a stage 2 computer for the cSRT-4, i'll just say the community is desperate for a stage 2 comp with no torque limiter ^_^
Love the SRT's, keep it up, i pray they keep your division through the merger.
For those of you who are located in or around the D, the SRT Team will be participating in a school bus figure 8 race at Flat Rock Speedway on June 13th. One of our own will be racing the SRT bus.
Come join us - gates open at 5 for practice, the race should begin around 9:30. Adult general admission tickets are $16 and children 3-14 are $3 each. The race is standing room, and tickets are first come, first served and usually sell out.
RE: 2009 Challenger SRT8 equipped with an automatic.
Question 1: Is there a throttle response and/or transmission up shift update in the works to help eliminate the time lag of throttle transitions that lead to a more linear and consistent driving experience throughout the RPM range? In typical light to medium city driving, my car (and some of the other posters here) experience a lackadaisical throttle response which leads to flat spots (in addition to a delay in downshifts) that make the car feel like a lumbering giant slowly awaking from a nap...unless you mash the throttle and/or use the autostick.
I'd keep mashing the throttle But to be honest, the 6.1L is cammed to make the big power it makes up to and therefore yes, the torque is a bit low light city driving. The throttle cal would feel worse if it was changed (trust me)....we felt this was the best balance for city driving at part throttle and track driving at WOT.
Question 2: I believe the car up shifts too quickly in light to medium driving. Any possible programming changes for this?
The transmission in your car is adaptive and will adjust to the way your driving each time you drive your car (it resets each time you start your car). So, if you drive more aggressive, the car will shift the way you like it. Try it out and get back to us next time.

08 Charger SRT8
A 180 degree thermostat is nothing but a waste of money. Your car will run at ~212F and run very good at that temp. There is also part of the calibration that accommodates the engines warm-up and running <200F....there is less spark advance in those areas, which equals less performance.

This is sooo true. the gears will linger longer and the downshifts during deceleration and playing on clover leafs are aggressive and awersome. Right to the most optimun rpm accelerating and decelerating

Could you send us a picture of the "tuning tube" you are thinking of so we give you a more complete answer.
I have no picture of a intake but it is the chaamber that run just under the begining of the runners and it has 4 hole of about 7/8ths of an inch on the bottom of the chamber.
1) Never ever change the body again! Please no "softened" Version 2 of the new Challenger like Ford did it with the Mustang.
2) Make em lighter! Or offer a SRT+ Version with aluminum or carbon body panels and a better handling. Not a quarter mile version but a weekend track racer version. BMW M3, Mercedes AMG or Corvette buyers will thank you for it and buy it! The car should be at 3500-3600pound without having to remove backseats or AC or the radio.
3) Give us a 427 and raise the power. I don't really understand why others can build a 355 V8 with more than 500HP without having to put a blower or turbo on it.
4) Please put a sunroof in these cars which can handle 170mph without starting to make ugly noises at 125mph or just remove the sunroof from the options list.
5) Most important!!!
Please give us a smaller 3spoke steering wheel for the 08/09 Challengers! If you ever have driven an actual BMW M3 or M5 than you know how it should feel like. Small and thick. The old 300c steering of the Challenger is absolutely too big and too thin.
I'd buy it today if Mopar had one!
6) Guys - you did a brilliant job. The Challenger is the coolest car on the planet!
