The mechanical diff offers big advantages in traction by hooking up faster, before slip occurs, and being able to transfer more torque to the higher traction wheel. The trade off is a slight reduction in initial turn-in responce.

I want you to know I believe the 6.1 is a monster of an engine and I am quite pleased with its performance. I did not consider the wind, were you logged into my computer? LOL It was actually rainning and we went through storms all day so you could be correct in that could have played a role, the mileage increase was DRAMATIC, the car only sat about 10 minutes while we gassed and used the facilities. Love the car not complaining just very curious as I have been an ASE certified Master Mechanic for over 15 years and this car is AWESOME Thanks guys!
