From the last session you guys had (Thank you for having them) an SRT Engineer has responded that he/she was not waiting for Stage 2 for the Caliber SRT-4 since he/she currently had it in their Caliber and they weren't sure if it would make it to production.
1) Is it undergoing R&D still?
2) Has it completed R&D and is in testing/endurance?
This question is for 06 Charger SRT-8, but i assume it can also apply to the rest of the SRT-8 line.
question is in regard to fuel consumption.
this summer when i traveled to Germany, i noticed a common practice there. The people there seem to turn off their engine when they come to a stop light to save fuel, and turn it back on right before or right when it turns green. It seems like a good practice consider how high the gas prices are in Europe.
i was wondering if i can do the same when i come to a stop light (particularly ones that take forever). 1. put the car to "P" park. 2. turn off the engine and leave the key to "on" position while holding the brake pedal. 3. once the light about to turn green, turn the engine back on and quickly put the car to "D" Drive, and lift the brake pedal and push the gas.
will there be any unwanted side effects to this practice for our car? like bad for the coil packs? starter? would you discourage this practice due to potential mechanical failure?
I live in crowded populated area in LA, and it seems most of the time i spend sitting in traffic waiting for a light. the car just sits there burning off fuel.
1. On the inside frame rail of the Challenger, there is a black mastic patch used to cover the access hole to the nut/bolt cradle. Should it be removed to prevent water/dirt from being trapped and avoiding a future rust problem?
2. The 5.7 and 6.1 use 7 qts. of oil. After draining the oil and re-filling, many owners are getting an "over-fill" reading on their dipsticks. Are the dipsticks calibrated wrong? What else could be causing this problem?
On the SRT8 Challengers is there a PCM wiring connection for engine speed that would provide a more accurate signal for accessories like tachometers or shift lights than tapping into the signal wire for either an individual coil or injector? Both of these have erratic signals at low RPM's.
Mopar offers a tach adapter for that purpose. Order Part #P4510598 and follow the instructions.
The Caliber SRT comes with a torque ceiling both stock and with Mopar Stage 1. Its been said by the SRT Engineers that its RPM based.
Any tips/tricks to increase that ceiling or possibly remove it WITHOUT using a Map/Tip clamp, piggyback, re-write the software (which only you guys can do), or the illusive Stage 2?
Can you reveal the final production numbers for the Caliber SRT-4 at this time, and if so, can you break it down by color? Thank you.
Glad to see you had a SRT4 Neon...GREAT CHOICE...Unfortunately the PM SRT4 has been cancelled. 2009 was our last year of production for the PM SRT4, and we have built out our volume.
