Re: SRT Engineers Chat Session - 6/11/08 6pm - 8pm EST

I think I'll snipe in here for the first post

First I'd just like to thank the SRT Team for their hard work. I've been drooling over this car for over a year checking virtually daily, loving the sneak-peak videos and all that. What an impressive machine and I can't wait until I get my '09 SRT8!

As for questions.

[1] From an overall project standpoint, what was the overall goal when creating the Challenger SRT8 when compared to the overall goal of the Charger SRT8. Basically, how did the vision differ from the Charger SRT8 when you set out to create the Challenger SRT8?

[2] Knowing the Charger SRT8 is very similar in platform, I am curious if there were there any significant barriers you ran into with the Challenger SRT8 or if a lot of the things were easily translated from the Charger into the Challenger with minimal tweaking.

Thanks again guys! I've never been more excited about a car then with the Challenger. Can't wait!

Re: SRT Engineers Chat Session - 6/11/08 6pm - 8pm EST

Again I will ask about my 2006 cherokee srt8. The service tire press. system will not stay off for more than just a minute or 2. The dealer has had it 3 times now and can't seem to make it stop. Any thing that you might do to help would make otherwise wonderfull vehicle near perfect. Is there someone to call for help for them and me. I really can't expect a fix from the forum but maybe some help some where. Thanks Ron HELP PLEASE

1- We've seen the T/A appearance package @ NYAS, my question is when is it gonna be offered on Mopar Catalog??
2- What's the reason for the price hike in the '09 SRT-8??

Re: SRT Engineers Chat Session - 6/11/08 6pm - 8pm EST

Looking for your thoughts or feedback related to my experiences recently with autocrossing my Caliber SRT4 and perceived sluggish throttle (i.e. bogging). This occurs after braking and passing the turn in point when I get back on the throttle, the car seems to bog or I guess more accurately it seems to take to long to respond to the throttle input. I'm keeping the car in 2nd gear through the turn and the RPMs aren't dropping incredibly low, I would say the lowest is probably around 2700 RPM.

I've heard other people talk about similiar experience with the car seeming to bog and not respond fast enough to throttle input. Thoughts? Is this a side affect of something with the ETC?

Second question I have is that if I pick up a set of winter wheels and tires, is there a way for the end user to program in new pressure sensors? I have the performance pages if that matters.

Third question, any idea when the '09 SRT Experience schedule will be released?

On another note I know you can't comment on future products so I won't ask but I will put my vote in for stage kits for this car.

Hello everyone, thanks to all the SRT Engineers in advance for all your resposes your answers will be very helpfull.

My first question is regarding the transmission on my 06' Charger SRT8, why do the RPM's go down to between 1 & 2 when the speed of the vehicle is around 30 - 40mph?

Re: SRT Engineers Chat Session - 6/11/08 6pm - 8pm EST

Initially I understood the 2008 Challengers were going to have Limited Slip Diffs., but since then I've heard that only the 09's will have the "Sure Grip" version . I've had many people on this forum help explain the various types available, but I still don't know what's coming on my 08 , Canadian 500.
Can you please explain to me what they are coming with, and how they work.
Greatly Appreciated!!
Thanks

Re: SRT Engineers Chat Session - 6/11/08 6pm - 8pm EST

Hello and thanks for taking my question, Will the rear differential ring and pinion from a N/A crossfire fit in a SRT6? Does the ecu monitor axle speed and if so will the ecu go into limp mode with different gears or just turn the cel on? I'm wanting to change from stock SRT6 gears to n/a crossfire gears because that rear is limited slip and has a 3.27 gear ratio. The cases look the same. Thank you !
