Hey guys, I am new to the forums, but I have a 2010 charger and plan on getting a challenger as well. I found a 2010 challenger RT for 17k and a 2011 challenger RT for 22k. Is there much of a difference from 2010 to 2011? Which one would you get? I plan on going later today or tomorrow but would like some opinions first. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
If it were me, I'd get the 2011 over the 2010. There were many changes in 2011. They cut a lot of corners on the 2008-2010 and rectified them in 2011 plus made other improvements.
2010-very soft suspension and rolls badly in cornering. Does not have hood struts, does not have cabin air filter. Driver's seat does not fold forward. Has a Ram emblem on front fascia.
2011 changes-all of the above were changed plus has electronic steering, cruise control moved to steering wheel rather than on a stick out of the steering column, wagon wheel size steering wheel on 2010 was changed to smaller better looking steering wheel, better electronics, different steering effort feel.
again price, condition, and color. other then that its kind of personal preference, the changes are pretty subtle besides the power steering changed to electric. I'd drive them both and weigh your opinions of both. I personally love my wagon wheel steering wheel, I don't care for 3 spoke wheels much.
Like what was said above, the '11 has a much better looking front end, in my opinion. But performance wise, the updated suspension and steering of the '11 is well worth the money. The interior doesn't have that 00s Dodge cheapness to it, either. These are the reasons I skipped over an '09 SRT in favor of my '11 R/T Classic.
