Dude......you always have the worst dilemma's...... :>) But I gotta say you do have great taste in colors. Now if I were in your shoes I would keep my 2010 DY SRT8. Then wait for the 2013 HO's to come out and buy one outright.. Now you've got all the bases covered....... ..... My goal is to have one of each color.
I've read through the thread and see where you are headed. I love both the HO and both colors of yellow but give either yellow a slight edge. So I agree that you should get the SY RT Classic. You haven't said yet but which color side stripes? Personally I hate white side stripes on anything but the dark blues and blacks. The black side stipes would be da bomb on the SY RT. Actually I think it would look great with black rally stripes too if you wanted to go with something unique. I also think the automatic is good choice. I've driven a few Challenger with the stick and really enjoyed it......but with that being said, for daily driving and especially for road trips the auto is REALLY nice. I wanted and got a sunroof but now after having it I could care less about it.
In a nutshell if I were only going to have one Challenger, I would do about what you are doing..... Yellow but I might choose to have an SRT8. You're right though,...... the RT is no slouch.

I'm planning on ordering the same car! An RT Classic in HEMI Orange. You've got good taste, my man. Now, if I could just decide on the black or white stripe ... Hmmmm.
If you're getting side stipes..... get the black......you'll be peeling the white ones off if you go that way. Just like most of the original ones. It was not a popular option. Most of those that had white stripes peeled them off.
Now if yer talking about rally stripes......well that's a whole new ballgame..............
There is no denying the SRT is the better performer, especially now in 2012. My 2010 is somewhat better than the 12 R/T in areas (body roll/brakes/top end) but worse in others namely steering feedback, interior materials, and harsher ride. I just think I'd actually enjoy the R/T more because it still looks better to me and makes more sense to use daily. If I wanted a toy car, I'd get a classic. To me, there is no sense of having a new toy when it sits and depreciates. An older toy or classic makes more monetary sense aka in 10 years I'll buy a used 2015 SC 6.2L lol
Well, my wife left it up to md to pick the color. Having a hard time deciding. I get the best deal going with a 12 but getting a 13 would be newer but no yellow. I love both colors. Looks like 13 is the last of this body before the refresh for 14.
Man, I have to say after reading this thread, drop the hammer on the 12 SY. If you want a great daily driver, that gets up and goes when you need it, and WANT to be noticed...This is the COLOR. I bought my 12 SY Classic a month ago, after searching for an orange one NOT knowing SY was an RT option, and drove it from Jacksonville, FL to Port Orchard, WA a week later with my wife (new duty station). I got the Auto also (NO sunroof). We had a heck of a time on the entire trip. She was in awww of the MPGs and the fact that if we needed to GO, we could. Not to mention, every stop for gas was a 30 minute stop or more (people love to stop and talk car and admire). I still walk out to people snapping photos of my car all over. Even see them throwing the iphone out the window on the freeway with grins on their faces. HA HA!!! Anyway, do whatever makes you happiest. The 12s were a huge improvement in all areas you already mentioned and you WONT have a regret. My wife has already mentioned that for a guy who cant leave a car or truck alone, she is impressed that I havent done a single thing looks wise to mine yet...guess I met my match finally. Cant perfect perfection, though she has no clue about the small list of things I DO want to do. HE HE HE HE HE!
Happy shopping and CHEERS
I agree. I am a little worried about what 2014 will bring in terms of updates and was thinking of waiting, but my car will be worth a good amount less by then and I may not like the changes. PLus, I miss out on yellow, which my wife picked over Hemi Orange when given the choice LOL. Happy wife = happy life. If I get the Classic, I am keeping it LONG term and having it be my daily driver. When I get the itch for another toy (6 speed), I'll buy a used 2014-2015 6.2 SC in 5-7 years when those have taken their biggest depreciation hit (cannot justify a 65K car which is what it will cost I bet). I am leaning more and more towards doing it because I was very impressed with the updates across the board and a huge improvement over my 2010 Classic I had briefly. It addresses all the complaints I had about that car, which is what made me trade it for a 6.1L because I thought I had to have the SRT. Th new car will have Heritage wheels, STP, auto and no other options, which is just what I like. With the new SPORT mode and paddle shifters, the auto is actually fun and noticeably faster than a 6 speed. I am not a great driver, so that is my impression. They are putting all seasons on for me too. Caveat is, the car I want has like 800 miles on it, but that is the only one without a sunroof/auto I could find within 300 miles and within the same price as my SRT as a trade.

Soooooo............ it sounds like yer gonna pull the trigger on this. Does it have leather heated seats? Thats probably the only option that I'd really miss. Post up some pics when you get it.
BTW I kinda agree with your earlier statement about not liking the looks of the Yellow Jacket 392. I don't really like the stock side stripes and I'm bold enough to flat out peel them off and add either rally stripes or the classic RT side stripes with a yellow jacket emblem, if I could get someone to do them. I'd bet Rider Graphix could do that. I do like the YJ wheels though, those I would keep.
We'll see. Talking and doing are two different things. I don't care for the YJ wheels and stripes. Sorry guys just my opinion, but I prefer my 2010 to it in the looks department, but the YJ is by far the better car, so those who have one still win LOL. Yes, the R/T I am looking at has heated leather seats. They are standard with the R/T Classic package, VICHRIS.
