450 hp on 5.7 rt possible???

Im wanting to get my 2012 rt in 450 hp range without voiding my warrenty. I have installed a Borla exhaust and cold air intake. My question is, is there anything else i can do to help achieve this goal. Im not a gear head so any advice will be helpfull. Thanks for any imput. Remember the key is not to void the warrenty.

Since you own a 2012 the answer is no.

Your cars computer is encrypted (lots of post about this) so it cannot be reprogrammed which means no power adders are posible without replacing it with a 2010 computer. Of course reprogramming or the additon of any power adders will void your warenty.

I doubt you have added any power yet, the 2012 intake and exhaust are pretty good. The exhaust may have gained you a few HP. 450HP isn't going to happen on a 2011 or 2012 without a cam and head work and that's going to require a computer change.

Even if you could crack the encryption, I highly doubt that you could get 450hp without voiding the warranty. You are limited to simple exhaust (no long tube headers), cold air intake, and a canned, completely removable tune. That may get you close to 415hp but not the 450 you want. To get more you would have to go internal (head work, cam) or forced induction, and that would void your warranty.

Yeah, it's how it is. I'm in the same boat as you. Simply put, to increase horsepower noticeably you need to increase the air delivery as well as the fuel delivery, in one way or another. Your engine is basically a huge air pump, the motion of which is created by combustion.

All of your "power adders" rely, ultimately, on modifying fuel delivery, even if that is in addition to forced induction, nitrous, etc....

With no computer programmability (per se), you can only (slightly) increase one of the two...the ability to breathe (air intake and exhaust).

You might gain a few horses with better exhaust and an CAI, but I think it would be more for looks or sound than anything else. Which is okay if that's what you want.

Any serious power mods you do will probably void your factory warranty, which would include internal engine modifications or swapping out to a '10 computer.

With locked codes, there's no "magic formula".

Our '12 5.7's are under stated by MOPAR at 372 HP or 376 HP, depending. Enjoy what you have. Tinkering will lead to disappointment and a much lighter wallet.

..Be well. That is all.

..aaand then the warranty is gone. Nitrous fogger systems leave distinct traces inside the engine. You cannot hide the fact that you ran NO2
