Cool Burnouts with R/T Auto (single tire mark?)

I am getting a R/T as a gift from my supercool sister. I have recently been diagnosed with disease similar to MS and therefore may not always be able to drive a stick. Since the autostick does not have a LSD, will I only leave one tire mark on the road when burning out?

No. Limited slip differentials have nothing to do with positraction. You'll leave two streaks of burning rubber.

Don't worry. You'll be able to add some clouds to a nice day.

Wwwwhhhaaatttt????? A limited slip and positraction (or as dodge calls it.."anti-spin") are pretty much the same thing. Both will leave 2 tire marks. If you don't have either, you will only leave one tire mark. As I have read, if you don't get the manual in the R/T, you don't get the LSD or POSI. You also just get the 2:82 gearing.

If I'm wrong, correct me.

Re: Burnouts with R/T Auto (single tire mark?)

R/T autos get 3.08 gears.....should help a LOT!

Dodge uses the brakes to trick the one legg rear to simulate posi......Both tires light up.

Nope, you're right. I mis-read. Positraction is actually a factory name for limited slip differential. This being said, there are multiple types of LSD's, of which Dodge's and Chevy's (where "positraction" came from) are possibly different. Dodge uses an electronic LSD involving the ABS system. If the car's computer senses that one wheel is traveling faster than the other, it will briefly apply the brakes to the one spinning faster, which will allow the other wheel to gain traction, to which they can both then accelerate.

Re: Burnouts with R/T Auto (single tire mark?)

Ohhhhh, how about that. Learn somethin new everyday.

As far as gears go, I thought I read somewhere that the R/T autos got the 2.82 gear, the SRTs got the 3.06 and the SE's got the 3.64. The manual cars of course got the 3.73 or 3.91.

Unless something has again changed.
