Dodge releases details on 2013 Blacktop editions

Dodge Infuses Sinister Styling into Special-edition 2013 Dodge Blacktop Packages - PR Newswire - The Sacramento Bee

Is anyone else super excited about this? Do you think this will just be for 2013? I was hoping that you could order the blacktop package on the mid '13 refresh or 2014...

Wish their were some pictures or atleast teasers. Should be interesting but sounds like they are just putting blacked out parts on the cars and marking up the costs.

Available in Pitch Black, Granite Crystal or Billet Silver Metallic, the Dodge Challenger R/T Blacktop model includes Gloss Black 20-inch Aluminum Wheels with Gloss Black center caps, Gloss Black grille surround, Gloss Black fuel door and a new matte graphite body stripe with red edge accents running from the front to rear fascia

I wonder if it will be an available option on the RT classic? In the article, they only say it's available on the RT and RT Plus

Anyone else notice this line?

"Challenger has set monthly or all-time sales records in six of the past nine months."

I doubt it, since the R/T-C package is the 20" Envy or Heritage wheels and the '71 style R/T stripe.

The blacktop package is a different set of stripes and the black finish chrome-clads along with the grille surround (much like the IE 392's had DWB or White grille surrounds to coordinate with the body color)

Yeah, but do you think that if it was ordered from the factory, exceptions could be made?

Let's face it, R/T Blacktop model vs R/T Classic... Basically two different paint and sticker options. Boring!!!

You'd think they'd of integrated something "performance-wise" from the '11 Mopar program.

Not likely - the only options are transmissions, paint color, sunroof, audio / radio head and potentially interior color (radar red/dark slate or std. dark slate gray).

Just like now, folks want 'stripe delete' R/T-Classics - can't be done.

Its a package option that only offers two wheels and 3 stripe colors, depending on body paint color, and the two interior colors since '12.

my issue is--i like the black top package BUT i like certain options on the R/T Classic as well that i don't believe you can get on the R/T plus. I would want functional hood scoops and the 3.92 rear. And i DEFINITELY would not want the R/T-C side stripes. To each their own, though...
