IIRC, it's 5 second, but anyways, yeah. He knows about it. It's the same way in the recent edmunds test as well. The guy couldn't turn it off fully. I seem to recall reading about yet another test where it was the same story.

I'm not really trying to start rumors. Just passing a long a bit of info from a source I've known for a couple years and I know is reliable. Either way, we should start seeing what individuals cars can do in a month or less. This is something I'd like to be proven wrong on.

If you can't turn it off though, I'm definately cancelling my order. I love the way the car looks, but a fun car with a nanny mode that you can't turn off kinda ruins the, uh, fun.

Matt

Re: ESP Off?

There are ways around it. Don't cancel the car just because of that. Go to chargerforums.com and do some reading over there on the subject.

Re: ESP Off?

I'd imagine the Diablo Predator would allow for turning off ESP fully even if it won't do it out of the box from the factory.

I have a diablo on the way. I will be getting a CMR tune soon after. I will have to ask about full off. From what I can tell from the book, full off still has some form of comp control to act as a form of lsd. Since the 09's will have a true lsd they will probably have true full off from the get go.

Looked in my book, and don't see ESP off on the Diablo. It will remove rev limiter though. Finally figured out how to do full esp off, but its been raining and havn't been able to try another 1/4 mile run. Best time remains at 13.72. 105 MPH. ( I didn't know it kept a memory of your "Best run" till today) It will still do conversions as well. 168.9 kmh/ 105 MPH. Wife in the car, fulltank of gas.
I'm hoping this will improve with full ESP off.

I think the esp off might be a CMR tune thing. I will ask my tuner.

Re: ESP Off?

from the articles I've read, the MT Challengers have the ability to turn off ESP completely. Automatic cars still have partial ESP functions when "off".

However, when you shut the ignition off, it resets back on. Simply a matter of pushing the ESP button off the next time you want to turn that system off.

Re: ESP Off?

The Diablo does have an ESP off feature. The option is in both the Quick adjust parameters, and the modify parameters menus.

On the '08's you can turn the ESP with a click of the button, but to really turn it off....You need to have it in gear, Foot on the break and hold the ESP Off button for about 6 seconds. The bell will chime and your info center will state "ESP Deactivated"
