Few Questions about my RT

Hello everyone.
I do have 2009 RT and loving it. I do have few questions if you know to answer any of them please share.
1- I really like the SRT8 hood strips, and I wanna add those, but online stores its hard to tell if its black or that puzzle looking charcoal, I think its called fiber or something like that. I don't want soild balck, I do want what they have on SRT's. What should I be getting? and direct link or part number appreciated.
2- Is there way to upgrade my single disc mp3 / Uconnect/ Satellite TO Navigation System with 20 or 30 GB HDD with touchscreen? I'm really interested in evaluating my old one if I can, if possible trade or maybe sell after the upgrade? Where should I look?
3- Is there a separate light switch for back book reading lights somewhere?
4- Book says lower octane fuel is good for my engine 5.7 automatic, long time corvette user friend says I should be getting 93 no matter what the book says. Whats the real deal?
5- I did "cold air intake and exhaust" upgrade. IS there a way to tell whats my HP now?
6- My RT cuts my speed on 140MPH.. any mod to that would affect warranty right?
Thanks all.

I think I can answer a few of these for you.

1. The stripes are a carbon fiber design, so if that's what you want keep the keywords carbon fiber or srt in mind when shopping around.

4. Although you can use the lower octane fuel, you won't be achieving the advertised horsepower/torque rating. Unfortunately I don't remember where I read that so you're going to have to take my word for it or do some research. I'm pretty sure I read it somewhere on here though.

5. Dyno

I'm not sure about the other questions and I hope this helped.

1. It's carbon fiber. The ones on the SRT are copyrighted and only available through the dealer (I had them put on my RT by the dealer, removed the hood/fender stripes). You can get something similar but not the exact same unless you go through the dealer, about $400. Try RiderGraphix.com 2008 & Up Dodge Challenger Stripes Graphics Decals Dodge Charger Graphics Ford Mustang Graphics Chevy Silverado Graphics Retro Custom Graphics Stripes Decals Boss Hockey Stick HEMI, they are great.

4. I only use 91 oct, plus I use the DS Predator. No 93 available here. Regular is OK if you don't use the Predator.

5. A CAI can add 0-10 HP (maybe). It doesn't change the HP much (just sound) unless you add a catback (headers add even more but will affect your warranty - probably).

6. Get the Diablo Sport Predator, it can fix this. ALWAYS return your car to the stock tune before going into the dealer for work. It will probably void your warranty if you don't.

You can get the code RER (Navigation) radio head - it has the 30Gig HDD and touch screen. You need the low speed canbus version for the Challenger.

No seperate light for the rear lights - you get front map lights & rear seatback lights all at once only.

For the R/T automatic, 89 octane is the preferred grade. You can get by with 87, but 89 for max performance. 91 will not yield any improvement on a stock engine.

The PCM controls the top speed and how much higher it would go un-governed is a function of coefficient of drag and available hp. The SRT can manage ~ 175mph, but it has more hp than the 372hp auto R/T engine, plus the larger air splitter might help its top speed too.

There are units on eBay that are refurbed 30Gig RER units:

(you want the LSB versions = Low Speed Bus)
Chrysler RER, great deals on Car Electronics on eBay!

New 20Gig units run $1,845 - $1,995 from various sellers for comparison

No seat heater activation w/ remote start. You can set your heater controls (read the manual) so that you get automatic cabin heating on remote start.

I have the 6-speed manual, so I don't have remote start like the 'auto cars have.
