I have a 2014 Challenger R/T 5.7 it has the Mopar Package and i ordered the kit and made the snorkel scoop duct right into the Mopar CAI system. I have muffler delete and putting on the blasting Bob's in place of the resonaters. I am just an old guy that wanted his last car to look and sound good, with just those improvements do i need to get a tuner or am i OK with the changes. Thanks
Wouldn't that also require premium gas (presuming the OP has an A5)? I know that can be offset somewhat by MPG improvements. He certainly doesn't "need it". But I don't need 500 hp either! It's definitely a want.
OP have you considered the Mopar CAI? I recently installed the factory box after running the CAI for 3 years when I sold my 5.7. It was amazing how quiet the intake and exhaust are with the factory equipment. Oops sorry!!! You have it. Need to work on my reading and comprehension!
OP, tuner is not needed, especially if you have an M6. It will do nearly nothing for performance. Unless you plan on serious future performance mods, you are wasting money.
You will need a tuner if you want a custom tune. If your not going to get a custom tune then the tuner wont be needed unless you want 1 of the canned tunes and there not that good anyway.
I concur, I'm 2013 RT/C, STP, Stick. Blastin Bob's Magnaflow glass pack reso delete, and K&N drop in. Runs, flows, and snarels perfectly after 17,000 miles. The auto trans in this car is a pig, (my previous 2010 Challenger was so equipped) and a Diablo Predator tuner was worth the price paid to wake the trans up alone. Unless your craving more thrust, spend the money on mud flaps and LED lamps from Rock Auto. Just swapped out maps, rear plate, back ups, and quarter markers with Philips LEDs for under $50. Irish
