In love with the R/T active exhaust system!

I just got a 17 Challenger R/T STP the other day and I love it (Still <300 miles). I was not expecting the exhaust to impress me because I've heard hundreds of stock R/Ts. I could not believe how deep and throaty it sounded when I had someone else start it up and rev it. I looked online and discovered the 2017 and up 5.7L Hemis come with active 2.75 in. exhausts like the 2015+ 6.4L. I have not tested it but I read that if you engage sport mode the exhaust will stay open during normal driving. I am so happy with the sound I just had to share it on this forum. I may consider leaving the exhaust stock now. I will try to get more videos posted as the week progresses.

Yeah, I like my active exhaust and have no intention of changing it. It is almost too loud sometimes. Almost.

I am also in love with the exhaust on my 17 RT. It sounds fantastic and if you want to cruise quietly, it can do that too. I don't think the valves stay open in Sport Mode, but it is certainly louder than when it isn't in Sport Mode.

I agree! I rented a 2017 R/T recently and it sounded amazing! Is there any way to get my 2010 R/T to sound like the 2017? Is the exhaust system "plug and play" or would it be more complicated than that?

Here is a clip of a 2017 Charger R/T with AES. Can't find a Challenger, but this is what they sound like anyway.

Has anyone actually looked at the exhaust and determine if the 2.75" pipe is just axle back, cat back, or the complete exhaust with the 6.4 manifold?

Just curious.

It's good they finally made the base R/T actually sound like a V8.

sounds almost like my '15 after I deleted the resonators (straight pipe) and replace the mufflers with chambered ones (Thrush). I could have saved a little money if they would have done this in 2015!
