Magnaflow vs MBRP

Hey whats up everyone! I plan on purchasing a white r/t in april just as soon as this winter snow is all gone here in chicago. I have been reading all the reviews on the MBRP exhaust and i see it has great hp and tq gains and i really think its a nice system even though i dont care for the tips! But i also like the Magnaflow comp series and i like the fact that u can use your factory tips but the main thing i like is that it has the best performance numbers that im surprised no one has mentioned. MBRP= 24HP@5200 24lbtq@4500 . MAGNAFLOW= 24HP@4950 25lbtq@4200 notice the higher peak at lower rpm for the magnaflow. Well anyway i should have my mind made up by april until then i will just continue to enjoy my 05 Maxima and count the months as they go by!

Re: Magnaflow vs MBRP

They are both good but MBRP is also a supporting vendor on this site and they are really good to their customers.

Re: Magnaflow vs MBRP

I agree, the deal with the H pipe sold me. Support is worth a lot in my book.

Re: Magnaflow vs MBRP

Where did you get those numbers from for the Magnaflow??
Their website is showing a 15 HP and 21 TQ increase at over 5000rpm

I have noticed a increase in HP overall and not just at 5k RPM. They sound sweet too, a lot louder than the MBRP. Took my friend for a ride and the first thing out of him was , "Jesus Christ". Take the back seat out for extra sound enjoyment.

Here is a link to Kinney's where mine was installed. http://kinneysmufflershop.com/ look for the 09 chally video.
I don't think this guy had an intake , but it still sounds good.

Takeda, did you have a custom set up like the guy in the video, or did you choose a one of Magnaflows catbacks. If so, which one?

Re: Magnaflow vs MBRP

I have been trying to find a comparison of the horsepower and torque gains on the 2009 SRT8 (6 speed) stock exhaust system vs. the MBRP 3" exhaust system. The stock exhuast system on the SRT8 (6 speed) with the clamshell headers is far less restrictive as compared to the SRT8 automatics.

I suspect that all of the before and after dyno tests (to date) only compare the SRT8 automatics which is not a true comparison for the SRT8 six speeds. I hope I'm not wasting money by changing out the factory upgraded exhaust on the 2009 SRT8 6 speed to the MBRP 3'" cat-back exhaust system.

Does anyone have a before and after dyno comparison for the MBRP 3" cat-back on the 2009 SRT8 six speed?

I suspect the H pipe will reduce the flutter sound as well as change cabin noise and drone. I would like an honest answer if the cabin noise and drone increases or decreases with the addition of the H pipe.

Re: Magnaflow vs MBRP

The differences in HP on catbacks should not be anyone's concern because none are all that different performance wise.

What should be your main concern IS the very different sounds and you'd better consider flutter and drone because most will have one or the other or both.

First the MBRP honks said their system had no flutter and that the audio/videos that clearly showed some flutter were the result of "bad audio recordings".

REALLY? Then why did they magically come up with the H pipe to fix the problem they said they didnt have?

These are the only two I would buy:

1. Corsa
2. Magnaflow

Thats it.

Heard MBRP LOTS of tmes and never liked any of the audios of it.

Just out of curiousity, which do you actually own? Have you ever heard any of the systems in person? Just wondering as there seems to be a large number of happy customers and then you detracting a system you have not personally heard or owned. Your's seems like an uninformed opinion.
