So, I'm strongly considering selling my SXT, and getting an RT, however all the RT's that I'm finding here, come with 20 inch rims, which for me is a bit of an issue, seeing as I planed on driving it in the winter, and getting winter tires for 20 inch rims will cost me an arm and a leg. So I'm wondering if I can buy 18 inch rims, and stick those on the RT, for the winter time, and use the winter tires I have for my SXT. Any help on this is appreciated
I almost traded my 20" wheels for 18" wheels. I had plenty of responses, but in the end changed my mind. I f you get an RT w/20" wheels you will have no problem finding someone to trade. But, I would just get an RT with 18" wheels and not worry about the speedo issues.
I live in Ontario and my '09 RT (that came with factory 20" wheels) is my daily driver winter and summer. The local dealer sold me 18" steel wheels and snow tires that have the same circumference as the 20" summer tires so there is no speedometer error. Has worked well for 4 years.
