How would one go about installing a working (air ram or hood scoop ) to help more volume of air to the the cold air intake , any kits , personal mods , etc. please share with us , thanks.
Also would installing one make a differnce or not really ? we can see there 2 vents on hood already but i dont see how that helping now .
The vents on the hood for the R/T are plugs and do not go through. You have to get the SRT Hood scoop inserts to make them functional. They cost about $40 each so $80 for the pair. They dont do anything other than allow air to flow into your engine bay.
right , but im asking any kits to get air to flow to cai , tubes ,piping, vents , just a thought , like 4 inch dryer hose, from front grill to bottom of cia , some thing like that , idea , to help more forced air , just thinking , of it. if it even worth the trouble.

I don't think there are any kits available. You can mount your air filter inside the fender and get an SRT chin spoiler. The airdam spoiler on the SRT's funnel air up sort of like a make-shift ram air. I think thats what those 2 slots are for on the SRT airdam. I don't know how much power you would really gain though compared to the regular CAI mounting area.
You would have to fabricate something yourself but keep in mind that those 2 vents on the hood are pretty small and do not allow for much airflow to be a viable ram air even if you did get custom tubing and moved your Air Filter up next to the engine under the vents. You would probably lose power from all the heat comming off the engine getting in there.
To do it the right way would involve a custom intake manifold with the throttle boddy mounted on top, a big air filter, cutting a hole in your hood and putting a nice hood scoop on it.

so basickly any hood scoop would have to relocate tb on top , major work , for lil add on , best to just put blower kit if going throu all that , thanks , just seeing what some doing out there , i know super charges an blowers way to go , for more hp , but just wondering what lil mods could help a cia installed. i seen the shacker kit coming out , an i seen another vent hood , right behined the dodge emblem , kinda like night rider vent , but im sure that just to help cool engine too , not directed at the cai.
Vararam might be coming out with a cold air induction kit which will make use of the SRT hood scoops. Don't really have much more information from them at this point...

If you want some extra hp from your CAI get a predator tuner. They'll have some tunes for our challengers shortly and they should have tunes specifically for an installed CAI as well as other mods you might have.

HMMM....looks like I may be selling the C&L intake that's still sitting in the box back home (I'm stationed overseas right now) to make way for this system. I wonder since it said the intake scoops were sitting higher to prevent water intrusion, that the R/T guys won't need to buy additional SRT8 hood scoops; sounds like the intake system will come with some custom ones.
We'll see I guess...

in reality, you would have to maintain a very high speed to see any improvement from a ram air setup. like over 150mph
