I felt for my driving needs, I wanted it as 'leggy' as possible and I'm glad I did. The car really gets on it after 60 mph, for a V6 and I like the 1500+ r's at open road cruise.....smooth and quiet.....and I'm averaging 28+ mpg, each tankful. Even with the tall rear-end on the tight, steep mountain roads I navigate, the auto-stick does the trick on that. Let's you really pick and choose your RPM's without having to bury your foot.
I could see if I was going to be doing mostly city or 'burb driving, the 3.06 would add a bit of off-the-line spunk.
That's a real cruzin car for freeway and long distance. 3.06 would be better for quick off the line take offs at the expense of losing some gas mileage.
