Anyone know what motor oil brand the factory used on the 2012 SXT?

Hey guys, I'm looking to see what oil the factory used on the 2012 challenger SXT? My first oil change is coming up and I'm trying to see what brand to use.
I know it has to be SAE 5W-30. but im still up in the air on what brand to use.
Thanks

Pennzoil Standard 5-30 is the brand the factory uses.......go 800-1000 miles then dump and put in synthetic of your choice....I use Mobil One 5-30 but any will do just fine many like Royal Purple you can get it at Walmart kinda expensive though.....just make sure your 5 weight as these motors have tight tolerances so you want the oil pumping right on through.

They gave me my first oil change free, should I ignore that or try and bring them my own synthetic? Is synthetic really better and worth it? Once you go synth, you can't go back for the life of the motor, correct?

Mobile 1 is my choice. I change earlier than recommended. Mobile 1 and a Wix filter is great combo.

synthetic lasts twice as long and protects ur engine better, u could wait a year before changing it. dyno tests show a 3hp gain from switching 2 synthetic.

5 -30w Pennzoil is standard oil. It is not Synthetic.....run car 800-900 miles then go to Synthetic always using 5-30w as the tolernaces in this engine are tight.

3.6L use a paper filter, not a spin on, there is major issues with aftermarket filters, do yourself a favor and buy the Mopar filter!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

dealers have been warned not to cover any check engine lights etc for a non Mopar filter, you could get handed a large repair bill

my 2 cents

Luke
