I take it that's on your 2010? I don't think there's any tune ready for the '11+ yet.
Haven't heard to much 'bad' about the ported TB and I know that Dreamco said he noticed a definite difference with his '11 SE 3.6.
Time will tell...... Heck! I'm still waiting for Santa to bring my rear spoiler!
It's on a 2009, I had heard that they cracked the tuning for '11-'12's? Maybe not the 3.6 though.
I hear you, I'm waiting for him to bring me a Pypes Violator Cat-back lol.

i would strongly recommend you look in the classified section in this forum for a CAI as this is the best price for the money for a nice engine bay ornament. I have owned Airaid, and MOPAR and both are CARB approved. Airaid, i believe just got their CARB, approval. For the price and performance I would recommend AIRAID (the blue dry media filter)...this unit is often discounted on autoanything.com with free shipping and no sales tax. you can get one for 125 used on this forum....I would not spend 400 for the MOPAR unit brand new...these can be found for 250 gently used. Whatever you do avoid oiled filter media...get the dry media filter
They are mostly for looks.
negligable performance gains for the most part with any cone filter intake.
about a 100 times i've seen u post no real gains from a cai. a cai is 1 of the best performance mods 4 a car-

On the Modern Muscle link they are using AIRAID intakes on the dyno runs. The 3.5, 215 CI V6 dynos around 170-175 and with the AIRAID shows 187, a 12-17 HP gain, with the throttle body added 197, a 10 HP gain. 2.7 3.5 V6 5.7 6.1 Hemi high velocity CNC throttle body LX RAM On the 5.7, 345 CI HEMI they say " Airaid air intake - after TB looks like they compliment each other well " From Popular Hot Rodding 5.7 AIRAID test, " After a couple pulls we recorded a best corrected-run of 282 hp and 304 ft-lbs of twist. yep because it's true...even validated by a few peeps right here in this thread alone not to mention thread after thread after thread on numerous forums. What are you REALLY gonna get with a CAI?...a nice looking intake and some improved sound under the hood. Feel it while your driving performance? not so much.

I had a Mopar unit on my car for a while, the sound was nice, but the aluminum tube seemed to hold heat. I ended up getting rid of it. Just recently I bought a Airraid, so far it seems to perform as well as the Mopar, for less than half the price. The only thing i don't like about the Airraid over the Mopar is the design of the sheild. The Mopar seemed to sheild the engine heat better, and sealed better with hood closed, while the Airraid unit is a two piece metal design, it doesn't seem to seal as well. I also beleive both filters are the same, at least that is what I read somewhere, that the Mopar filter is the same as the Airraid blue syntahmax filter. Performance wise I could not tell much about the Mopar unit versus the stock airbox with a K&N drop in, I have not had the Airraid long enough to notice any improvements, other than a little mellower sound. Both units are carb certified. Hopefully when a tuner becomes avail, the CAI along with a better exhaust will really wake this car up.
If price isn't an issue then pickup the Mopar CAI. For me it was worth it for the sound alone. The nicer engine bay is a plus but I can't say I feel or believe in a preformace increase. I hope to pick up a TB this spring... And then there's nothing else out there for my 11'...

I start monitoring intake temperature using android phone with a torque application and OBD Bluetooth connector.
that time outside climate temperature was 35 (Celsius) Intake temperature went up to 55 in about 15mints idling.
but when the car moving it dropped immediately to 35 while ur driving about 50kms speed. temperature will have sudden drops when you turn car like in a roundabout. you can test it your self. but get some one else to see reading while driving. its dangerous. this is on a stock intake on my 2012 V6. My point is in normal driving condition installing CAI will have more of a placebo effect in a V6 horses.
Having said that I my self ordered K&N system and waiting for it to deliver in couple of weeks to install
After I installed the 15 HP Airaid on my 3.5 I could not "feel" the extra HP, I would need to put the car on a dyno to see the extra 15 HP gain at redline. A CAI does not add 15 HP to the wheels when you floor it. The Airaid adds 15 HP starting at 5725 rpm to the redline at 6400. The K&N adds 12 HP starting at 6215 to 6400 rpm. My Airaid may only add 3-10 HP over the stock airbox starting at 2000 to 5500 rpm. The 3.5 makes max HP, 253 at 6400 so you want to add extra HP to the motor at its peak. On a 0-60 run the tach spins up to 6400 and the 4-speed shifts into 2nd at 45 mph. I only see the max HP of the motor and the extra 15 HP for just a second before the car shifts into 2nd. On a 1/4 run I would only see max HP twice for just a second when the motor hits redline and shifts into 2nd at 45 mph and 3rd at 90 mph. If you want to see extra HP at the wheels as soon as you floor it you need a tune, nitrous or blower. Stock my 4-speed would chirp the tires, with the 93 tune would squeel the tires and with the Predator throttle boost the tires would spin and the rear end would twist to the left without power braking like she was sitting on ice, like a HEMI!

Rorschach I agree with Richmonddjs you did a great job putting all the best links into Redstorm3265 sticky at the top of the page. I am glad I saw the Fastman throttle body link, my Fastman TB arrived today! The shaft that the butterfly valve sits on in a TB restricts air flow. The fastman TB has half of the shaft removed increasing the amount of air through the TB. The Modern Muscle TB does not have half of the shaft removed so it has the stock 64mm, my Fastman TB is now 3mm bigger and $130 cheaper than the MM TB.

Ebay, nor anywhere's on earth. There is not enough meat in the stock casting
and besides... That would be absolutely ridiculously huge for a small 3.6L
motor.
On my modified 3.6 TB the front opening is radiused at max 80mm opening
tapering back to the stock bore. The shaft is halved picking up 3.50mm.
Pretty much exactly the same mods as my popular Standard Hemi TB's I do but
in the smaller version 3.6 Tbody. More than enough air flow for your needs.
Much better throttle response and an all around performance gain. They are
a direct factory replacement for your 2012 Challenger.
If interested in purchasing or have any questions please let me know. I
look forward to helping you meet your performance needs."
Me: "Well all sounds awsome with the information you have provided. I am interested in purchasing one but in the picture you have provided for the TB shows a "lip" on the inside, Would that be bored down?
And also would you say your TB are just as good/if not better than ModernMuscle's Ported TB and Also Speedlogix? Sorry for the questions, I am just trying to find the best deal."
"I can radius the lip slightly. I cannot get to close to the blade or I will send off codes and lightning bolts. Been there done that.
I have been in competition with many vendors since 1999. I am still in business with an excellent reputation over the years.
I looked at your mentioned competitors. Misrepresented sized TB’s and Overpriced. The other looks like a subvendor for the same after mentioned junk and China.
Ask them what is the blade size in their TB’s? -I will answer that for you. Stock.
You see the lip. They have an even worse lip in their poor design.
Your good eyes failed to see a very important advantage of the Fastman TB. The shaft! Look what I have done. It is halved. Now you have a true 3.50mm advantage over there claimed sized TB’s and much better air flow.
Let’s see. I have them matched for size and I have a much better shaft design and I have a better price.
Nobody beats me and I do not have to misrepresent my products."
