Flowmaster Force II System?

Hey guys,

Was looking in to this cat back system for a while now, just had a question for you V6 owners out there that have it, which size piping did you decide to go with? I was looking at the 2.5" system, how big of a difference does it make compared to the 2.25"? Also, how do you like the system and the sound? Lots of good reviews on this setup across the web, itching to pull the trigger.

The price of this system is good as well. Half the price of the Magnaflow system. Both SS only difference is the 2.25 versus the 2.5 inch. I am liking this system myself.

Summit has it for 675 with free shipping. I might just pull the trigger on this.

Nice looking setup!

Still though...$700 for a V6 system that won't produce much in gains?

I still think buying a set of mufflers and having a local shop install them is the way to go. Maybe I'm wrong...

I got this system for mine a couple of years ago. Of course i have the 3.5 but I'm sure they would sound very similar. The thing I have always liked about this kit is it doesnt sound raspy, there are several setups out there that sound good on throttle but raspy during normal driving. This has a nice tone and when you get on it, it sounds damn good i think. The biggest thing is too many people want a exhaust that is going to sound like a V8 and that is just not going to happen. I've had this kit for two years now and have been very pleased with it.

I'm not so sure about that. I don't know if it's the 4 valve heads of the 3.6, compared to the 2 bigger valve heads of the 3.5 or more 'hemi' design of the 3.5 heads....and hell, it could just even be my ear, but it sure seems like every exhaust mod I've heard, the 3.5 just sounds better.....deeper and less tinny. More 'traditional' sounding, for lack of a better word.
This is one of the reasons (along with $$$), why I'm balking on doing anything right now.

I agree.

Actually, I have 10,000+ miles on my car now and the exhaust is sounding way better. Still kinda quiet at idle but under acceleration it has a decent sound both out the back and in the cabin. It definitely sounds like a V6 though. I don't think there is anything one can do to make the 3.6L sound like a V8. I have decided I will not be making any exhaust mods on this car.
