I have an '09 SE, and if the shift knob is held on the same way then the trim piece at the bottom of the shifter should pop down (careful because mine cracked when I did this, even though it isn't needed) and then there will be a ring holding the shifter on. Take that ring off and the shifter knob should slide right up (easier to work with in the neutral position). That's how mine was held on, hope this could help.
