Im getting Blown...vortech style!

So I just picked up the reverend's vortech kit he has with the meth kit...Super stoked!!! I am getting both pulley's, but will probably run the 12psi pulley, and hook up a waste gate and boost controller (to keep the boost at 10psi)!!!! I will also be figuring out how to plumb an inter cooler into the mix as well.

I am thinking that I will hit some really good numbers, running the meth, and inter-cooler plus my current mods of ported throttle body, port and polished lower intake manifold, long tube headers and high flow cats and corsa r/t cat back exhaust...

the 3.93 rear-end is going into the car in a few weekends as well...So I will keep you guys updated as things progress!

Very nice. Next year I plan to supercharge the chally as well. Going with procharger with the alot of parts coming from the 5.7 kit they sell with the intercooler.

Please give us more! I like the Vortech head better, I have not heard of this "kit" before, only the MMS one, I guess I heard of one homemade Vortech kit, so details...

How are you using a waste gate and boost controller with a supercharger? Going it rig it up to leak boost as a limiting strategy?

Well its the modern muscle kit....but he's decided to keep it, so we are going to work together and get basically a copy of his kit...so it will be the same, its coming either way; -)

I think it would be cool to use one of these new fangled hoods and duct air over an intercooler that sits above the intake manifold somethng akin to WRX STI ducting. A U shapped intercooler would fit between head unit and TB. A word of warning as I've run turbo cars for decades, 10:1 cast pistons is not something you want to put high boost through. It is much cheaper to get a set of 9.0 forged pistons and experiment from there then melt the engine. Sure I've run upto 8 PSI on 10:1 intercooled, forged pistons, optimal chamber, 9000 RPM, with oil jet cooling for the pistons. Change any one of these parameters and things get iffy and no, every shop will have the same story, all our builds run XYZ for a gazillion miles, pump gas with no issues, ever.

Here is a U interooler design that should fit, just to give you an idea:

You basically run a bigger pulley, in this case it will be the h.o. pulley which is about 13psi, you then have the waste gate hooked up to a boost controller to dump any boost over 10psi...the purpose is you get more boost down low because of higher boost overall, but you hook up the wastegate and boost controller to dump at 10psi, and I'm good. :-)
