I'm old school but, what I would have done is remove all of the plastic items (side skirts, spoiler ect ect)
and paint them the same color as the car.....................just my opinion!
nicely done...i was thinking of doing the same to mine and maybe plasti dip the wheels until i can afford to buy something different in black
where did you get the tinted lens covers for the side mounted signal lights?
I believe those are the smoked side markers off eBay. I got mine for like $50 or something, for both front and back. Cheap mod that looks great on my Black Blacktop! Pop some nice red LEDs on the back and white LEDs on the front and it really pops!
To Blackfrost....all I did was pop out the reflector side markers.... Plastic dipped them and put them back...I also took out the bulbs so no lights on the side markers... Thank you for the compliment
Dodge made the side skits matte for a reason. It helps make the car look less "fat" you could say. I have the video of the interview, might take some time to dig up but it was done for a reason
Well just because Dodge thinks that you can hide a big dog by adding plastic, it is still a big ass dog.............and I did pay for it so I do what I want with my "Big Dog" to look like I want it to look, do not want it to look like 99% of the rest of the Challengers that I see driving around.............Just my take on what looks appropriate to me!
Looks great. I went the same route as you. Some people love it, some people hate it. I personally like it and enjoy working on my car so that's why I did it. And to stand out from every other challenger in town. I will soon have to redo my grille surround because mine is getting a few chips from hitting big bugs on the highway. A few of these pictures are older and don't have a couple of my more recent mods. I also replaced my gas cap with a shaved SE model gas cap, exhaust tips, and nightshade side markers and taillights.
I think I'm about to order some plasti dip for my wheels. has anybody used or seen the graphite metalizer used on top of the black plasti dip. If so does it still look mostly black or does it look more grey?
I haven't seen it in person but check YouTube and there's a good vid on there with the graphite metalizer on the black plasti dip...it looked good to me so I'm gonna try it...will only be a little time and money spent if I don't like it but I think I will...
They also have a glossifier that will give a clear coat look but whatever you do don't spray a clear coat over plasti dip because it would be tough to get off...
