SE E version.....keyless entry?

Guys thinking of getting the very basic SE E version and adding a couple of key features myself (fog lights, gas cap). I was considering even foregoing the popular equip package which may be the package that contains the keyless entry. What I don't know is what type key I would get with such a stripped down setup. Would I get the old fashioned simple metal key only or would I get at least a basic door lock/unlock remote ?

thanks!

Great! thanks for the good info. I guess the only thing in the G package then that I would really miss would be the 18 inch rims...but maybe I could find a bit wider tire with a little higher sidewall that would fill the wheelspace just as nicely as the 18 inch rims. Maybe a 235 or 245 60 series....

The things the "G" Package has are 18" x 7.5" aluminum wheels, fog lamps, leather-wrapped shift knob, leather-wrapped steering wheel, P225/60R18 touring BSW tires, security alarm, Sirius satellite radio, (1) year Sirius service, visors w/illum mirrors.

The 18x7.5s are nothing to write home bout.
I got the 26G package and want wider tires but the 7.5" wide rims
wont take what I want.
At least the newer mustangs came with an optional 18x8.5" rim that
accepts 275/40-18s.
Whats up Dodge. Wider rim OEM next time maybe?
Any takers for my 26G package rims so I can get some proper width,
wide tire taking rims on there...
Shoulda stayed with the 17" rims and got larger/wider aftermarkets....

And the sunroof option has been nothing but a trouble maker....
Not worth the $900 something bucks. It ate a plastic pleated side wind
deflector the second time I opened it. And just try and get a replacement
part at the 'almost defunct, dont pay our suppliers so they wont
ship up replacement parts, and only have enough parts to put together
new cars not for vehicles already sold that already need replacement parts',
Dodge stealership. Just try and get a bottle of DeepWaterBluePearlCoat PBS
touch-up paint from them.

And my sirius sat service was activated months before I even saw the car
or drove it off the lot. So the year of free service turned into 6 months of
free service. Stealership says "oh well, we have your $$ so piss off...."
Paying for commercial free sat radio that is chocked full of commercials
for penis pumps and thickness of my weiner increasing pills almost makes
me want to rip the sat receiver out of the car and drive over it a few times....

Maybe the leaky sun roof will perform some sort of useful function and
kill the sat radio....

I looked at Dodge.com and it doesn't seem to correspond to my 2009 G options. One of the major features (for some of us) were the ABS brakes and ESP package which changes the wiring harness and PCM programming. They also don't list the fog lights which we have, for example.

I think it is best to ignore the 2009 build on Dodge.com as they aren't being built anymore and the data is faulted information and wait until the 2010 comes up. Hopefully the dealers can give accurate option information. Hopefully!

Your Sun Roof was an option that cost some $900 + bucks. This is always one on these bimodal opinion issues. However, I am with you on this one.
I will never, ever get a sunroof again. Fortunately I do NOT have one on my Challenger, but the one on my 2005 Magnum R/T was a real pain in the butt.

Yes, yes, yes there are many of you out there that love them. I don't.

Your Dealer activated your Sirius radio, not Dodge at Brampton. My radio got activated about a week after I had picked up the car. Go back (if they are still there) and get a credit for half a year. Hey, it is worth a try.

I was giving you the 2010 G Package. ABS, ESP, Traction control and Brake Assist are now standard on the SE Base package.

If you want updated 2010 info on all models go to this Credit Union Website www.bfcu.com and click on the GrooveCar icon/area near the bottom right.

When I originally ordered during the EPP Promotion I ordered the G Package and my main reason was for the ABS and Traction Control. To me they are a must have unless the car is a fair weather only driver.

This Dealer has a lot of SEs. New Dodge Challenger, Cerritos, CA, Coupe, Cerritos Dodge Chrysler Jeep Stock: 922081 If you look at the details of a sticker, you will see ABS , Traction control, etc standard on the base late 09 SE.

Found this Tidbit which probably explains why Cerritos has 14 Challengers on their lot! "This is the reason I warn about Cerritos Dodge in Cerritos , CA. They are advertising cars for a specific amount and then when you get there you discover they have added $8,000 in dealer markups that they say cant be removed. For example, a Cold Air Intake they charge costs $695 and you can buy them all day long for $325. An "exhaust system" for $2495 that is worth half that is also added. And the final kicker is a $5,000 market adjustment. Are you kidding me!hide
