What are you using to clean and/or apply as a protective treatment to your dashboard?
I have a 2015 SRT and have read that many are just using a damp cloth for cleaning. My dash is clean but just looks dried out, although it isn't when touched. Just feels rubbery.
I haven't applied any treatment yet. Just was wondering what the group is using?

I just use a damp rag. I tried armor all on my last challenger and the shine was different all over. Looked bad and reflected onto the windshield when the sun was out.
Yep. I was in a rush when I first posted that "I use it on everything". I actually use the "303" on all the interior pieces that you would use such a product on. To me, it's mostly about making such panels look good more so than protection from sunlight. Well, other than the dashboard and it needs the "protection".
I also use it on all the exterior things such as rubber an plastic moldings around the windows, all the rummer gaskets under the trunk lid, all the black, hard plastic trim between the hood and windshield, the lower lip spoiler, and darn near everything in the engine compartment.
I even use it on the tire sidewalls instead of tire shine products.
I have used the Armor all detailing wipes. They clean and protect but don't look greasy. I am looking to try the 303 as I have heard nothing but good things about it for interiors as well as it being the go to product when I had a Jeep JK. Currently I have been using alot of chemical guys stuff so I was also looking to try some of their stuff out. I current use the leather cleaner/protector on my seats and console and it does an excellent job as well as smells really nice.
I bought a black custom made suede dash cover. Helps keep the heat down in the vehicle and protects that dash. Have them on all my vehicles here in West Texas. They look good too
Learned this from some accomplished drag racers: Lemon Pledge. I tried it on my 2016 SPS dash and it works great. It picks up dust and leaves a nice clean look, but not artificially shiny like ArmorAll. Just spray onto a microfiber cloth and wipe.
the 303 will make your dash and door panels (the thick textured rubbery part) look more black and even.
Before treating it, it would look sort of 'dry' and have lighter areas. You won't be disappointed.
I've done a lot of car shows this summer where I have the windows open to show off the Black/ruby Shaker interior - since the door panel tops would have much more UV exposure (I have 3M Crystalline film on all glass, including full windshield) I wanted to have the vinyl protected.
After the 1st application of 303, I was very pleased at the appearance. And its not greasy or oily. Just looks like brand new black textured vinyl.

Agreed. One of the first things I do with a brand new car is apply 303 on everything it can be applied to. I do all the plastic parts on the interior and all the rubber weather strips around the windows, under the trunk and darn near everything under the hood. I do it immediately on new cars before they have a chance of getting dirty or weather exposed.
I use Armor All Dashboard Wipes (the one with the Protectant label). They totally restore the original look, without leaving a greasy residue, and you only have to wipe the dashboard down once every three or four months. It's really the best off-the-shelf cleaning product I have found since I bought my Chally.
I made friends with the salesman I bought my car from and he gives me a bottle of whatever white stuff they use on the cars once a year. Works pretty well.
I typically use whatever is on sale....and I've used AA for years and until folks in this thread brought it up, I had never heard of it causing a crack in the dash. I did a little google searching and I'm not convinced this is the truth, but rather a rumor mill myth. With that being said, I know that Meguiar's makes excellent products for everything car related that I have tried. I've used both for many years and I've never had a crack i my windshield. My vehicles never see the inside of a garage and stay in the butthole of the south (Mobile) so it gets mighty hot and humid down here.
I would say no. Personally, the only thing I would use on those parts would be a good plastic polish or other wax that has no abrasive qualities at all.
But, I haven't put 303 on it so I'm only guessing.
My personal experience with Armor All was on my first car in 2002, a 72 Dart all original 72k miles. Now granted the paint was oxidized and dash felt dry, but it was not cracked at all. After using armor all it started cracking all over the place within weeks, and felt brittle. I'm not saying the dash wasn't due to fall apart, but it sure did seem to accelerate the process.
Also those of you worried about UV damage, check your local laws and tint shops. Here in Dallas it is legal to tint your windshield now. It's hardly noticeable (90% tint I believe) and cuts most UV and heat from getting in. I have it on my truck too and I love it.
