I wanted to give my audio system a little something extra so I put in some lights in the door panel that respond to the bass of the speaker right next to it.
Just put in the lights, heres a video of it
Of course I'm going to tint it to match the door handles/cup holders/etc.
It's a rather low tech solution. Still trying to figure out a way to tint the bright white LEDs. Tried aquamarine stain glass paint, aquamarine transparent plastic. But the white, its so bright.
Paint each side of the quantum bit you got from think geek. Let dry. I ruined two of them trying to get the thickness right. It dries a bit more transparent than it seems. Place them 4 in a row on a strip of the mounting tape like 1cm apart. Peel off the other sticky side and apply firmly to the very bottom edge (seems to be the best place, YMMV, this tape peels very easy and cleanly, so try what works best for you).
Would definitely give it a shot at about 30 bucks cost. My calcs figure it will run out of batteries in 2-3 months, by which you'll porbbaly be bored anyways. But right not I can't count the holy **** that's awesomes
