Kicker...to buy or not?

I've got a chance to buy a Kicker w/ the 200W amp for the trunk of the Charger/Challenger for a good price, way below retail. New in the box. Does anyone have the Kicker? Is it worth it?

Re: Kicker...to buy or not?

I have it and like it, but it's most noticeable on the hip-hop stations. Classic rock stations don't have the same deep bass. Some people that have it think it sounds a little tubby, but it doesn't bother me.

I like being able to shake the car when I turn it up.

Re: Kicker...to buy or not?

We love ours. Actually getting ready to upgrade to the 400 watt subs and amp pretty soon. Our stereo dealer put a system in our last car and every time it got a little warm outside the amps would get hot and shut down. It got real old real fast. Not to keen on an aftermarket system at the moment.

Re: Kicker...to buy or not?

I have heard mixed feelings about them, i hear they don't put out as much as you would like, and that it sounds a little off.

Re: Kicker...to buy or not?

I have the factory kicker system in mine and I like it. I am sure there is better for the $$ , but for what it is and the factory warranty/ look etc. I like it. In fact I too will probably upgrade to the extra 2 subs kicker offers now as well

Re: Kicker...to buy or not?

I have the kicker system in my srt jeep and the challenger. I added the system to my jeep and I just added the dual box to my factory challenger setup. I am willing to bet that the factory sub is wired backwards making it sound a bit hollow. The lx cars have had a known issue where the directions give the wrong info for the signal wires. It is backwards from those directions. You will still get bass but it will be muddy and lacking on most music. Hook it up right and it will sound great. I have the factory single 10 unhooked since I found that out. I was testing with just the duals and it rocks. I would like to test that sub alone to make sure it is correctly wired since it pulls off of the same amp wires as the dual box. I highly suggest you get the dual box if you can get a good price. I doubt you could get the same level of sound out of aftermarker for the same price. You see the box and that is all the room it takes up. No mounting amps or anything else. All work is done in the trunk and can be done in an hour with all parts needed included. I have been down the aftermarket road many times. I could probably whip up something for low end for that price. Only problem is how everything would match up and making sure my box is the right size. I could build a box for pretty cheap unless you figure my man hours which would only be fair. Then there is mounting the amps or amp. Get kicker and be done with it.

Just for your info I have over 4 grand in my 05 ram and it only has one monitor. That should say allot about kicker.

Re: Kicker...to buy or not?

I would rather listen to the rumble of the Hemi than the stereo

Re: Kicker...to buy or not?

How does you having 4 grand in your truck say anything about Kicker?
