Need Some Illumination Help

I purchased a set of illuminated '«hallenger' door sill scuff plates. I have it connected to the C204 connector. + side to yl/wt(pin 6) and - to bk/lg (pin 12). Supposedly, this is for the map/dome light circuit (I don't have a dome light due to the sunroof). It does what it's supposed to as long as the car is not running. Open the door and challenger light and map light turn on. close the door and after about 15 seconds they both fade to off. But when I start the car the dome light goes out but the challenger door sills stay on.
Perhaps there's a switch/relay at the map light that times out?
Maybe it needs to be tied into the 'door ajar' signal?
I've read many threads on here as to which wire to tap into and they all say pin 6 & 12.
Anyone know why this may be happening?

I think your wiring may be just fine.

Try this: When it's dark out start your car with the door open. Don't turn your headlights on--you want the interior dark. Close the door. You should be able to see some slight glow from the door sills along the bottom of the door where it meets the interior trim plastic. Keep watching it, and if it goes out after a few seconds everything is fine.

What you describe is how my LED projector puddle lights function. Good luck.

Bettie's mods include:
Reverse sensors - Sequential turn signals - Blue Wheelskins steering wheel cover
Blue door panel inserts with chrome trim - Stainless vent trim rings
Old school machine-turned applique on console, steering wheel, A/C controls and door switch panels
Extra air provided by MagnaCharger via Cervini Shaker Hood
BBK shorty headers and Corsa extreme
Blue AAC halos and blue LEDs in hood scoops

Go Goody,
Dimmer not all the way on.
I need to try the previous thread before you. Sounds kinda strange, but may work.
Thanks,
