Radio Question

I'm "considering" trading the black R/T Classic for a Pitch Black 2012 SRT8. On the Dodge website they show the 430N radio with NAV but give no information about what wattage it is. The black R/T has the Sound Group II which in my opinion is WAY better than the Kicker system in the 2011 SRT8. I WILL NOT pay $2K for the top upgrade on the 2012. Does anyone know if the base radio in the SRT8 is the same as the Sound Group II in the R/T? I plan on ordering the car I want and I'm SURE the dealer will have NO CLUE about this.

The 'base' SRT sound system is the 6 speaker BA system like the R/T Plus models would have (non SG-II option). [276w - 6 speakers]

SG-II R/T cars have the 7 +1 amp with additional amplification for the sub.
[368w 7 speakers + rear deck sub]

The radio head units are the same across the line. Base SRT radio head is 430 non-nav. 430N is extra cost upgrade.

Thanks Hal for the info. I just want a sound system that's as good as the SGII in my R/T. and apparently I can't get that in the SRT8 unless I spend the $2K for the top upgrade (which I will NOT do). I would definitely go with the 430N as I want the NAV, but obviously can't get the 368 Watt system like I have in the R/T.

What could be possible is to get the 8 channel amp and add the sub (bolts up to rear deck - you're getting most of the parts of the R/T SGII setup.

What needs to be added is the center channel speaker (wire harness already in dash) and the SRT may use the same rear harness that has the 8" round sub which would be the additional BA speaker to acquire and install in the rear parcel shelf.

That would be much less $$ than spending the $1,995 for the HK 900w audio upgrade that is the only SRT II option now for '12.
