EVIC = (Electronic Vehicle Information Center) The cluster under your speedo that tells you your fuel range til empty, average fuel EPA, tire pressure, and more.
As far as cost goes, I guess it depends on how much you are able to do yourself.
I installed it for nothing, but I have access to all the right tools.
I am not sure how much each of these items would cost through MOPAR, but like everything else, they have a pretty good markup.
For example, Chrysler buys the FOBIKS from us at about $7 each, then MOPAR sells them I believe around $70 each.
I suppose if you did the labor yourself (Installing the modules) then it would just cost the price of the items, and the 10 minutes it would take a service tech to turn on each item.
If you could get access to a chrysler tool, or the CDA software, then even the programming part you could do yourself. You have to make a few changes to the TIPM in the vehicle so it knows that a PEM has been installed, and then just program the PEM and WIN with the right FOBIKS. It's not that hard to do with the right tools. And with the RT and SRT8, the proper harness connectors should already be there.
With the SE, which is what I have, there are no connectors, so I had to jack into the CAN B at the HVAC controls. No big deal though and easy to get to.
Maybe if anyone is interested, I will do an instruction write up detailing just what is needed to make it work. All in all it's not that hard and it is nice not to have to put the key in anymore. Just hop in, press a button and go!

I think alot of people here would like some sort of write up. I can live without the KG but I'm a little pissed that I ordered the J package which supposed to include the Keyless go, and before my car was built Chrysler switched it to the electronic convience package.
If it doesn't cost a arm and a leg, i'd consider doing it.

Also, I am looking to try to upgrade my Stereo head unit (RES) with a mygig RER or REN type unit. I would like to add the navigation and uconnect to the car. Perhaps someone might be interested in working out a trade of some kind?
OK. Here's how to install the Keyless Go system into a Challenger 08-09 8 CYLINDER (5.7 or 6.1):
PART 1: Hardware Needed.
Parts you will need:
Keyless Go Key Fobs (05026457AE) 5 button FOB (this FOB has remote start and is the fob for the SRT8)
OR You could also use part #05026567AE, this is a 4 button FOB, it does not include the remote start feature. (Remote start can also be added easily, you just need the proper Hood switch (Mopar $20) and then program the Cars computer (TIPM) for remote start.
A couple notes about FOBIKS. Once they have been married to a car, they cannot be married to another WIN. It will not work. It changes the programming information inside the FOBIK as well and it will never ba able to be used with another WIN. Be aware of that if you intend to buy a used FOBIK as you will not be able to program it to your car. You must only use Virgin FOBIKS. There is a way to "de-kit" fobiks and return them to a virgin status, but you have to have the right software, and a test box that will program the key. This is not something even a dealership can do. Also, the WIN will accept up to 8 FOBIKS total, so you can keep your 2 original FOBIKS, and then add up to 6 more, or erase your original FOBIKS and program up to 8 new ones. If you opt to keep your original 2 programmed to the car, they will never work with Keyless Go, but they will still perform as they do now. Only the New Keyless go FOBIKS will allow you to start the car with the Start/Stop Button (SSB).
(2) LF Antennas (05026444XX) XX is the revision, I am not sure of the current revision, but any will work.
(1) PEM (Passive Entry Module) (05026443AF).
(1) SSB (Start/Stop Button) (1FU931X9XX).
Recap of parts needed:
(1) WIN - Your current WIN is fine.
(1) PEM
(1) SSB
(2 or more) KG Fobiks (4 or 5 button, with or withour remote start function)
(2) LF antennas
I will explain in my next post how this all works and how to install.
Also, what changes need to be made to your TIPM for all this to work.
