Vanity Mirrors

Ok I'm stumped and I can't seem to find any answers on this subject anywhere. If I missed it somewhere, I apologize and would appreciate a link to it. Thanks.

Anyway, my questions are: Where the heck is the power for the vanity lights coming from? Is it battery operated and if so, how do you get to it? Also, how do you take off the bulb covers without breaking them?

I've had problems with 2. A 96 Tahoe, passenger side, and an 03 CTS, drivers side. With both I had to replace the visor. The connection for both came from the visor and ran up
thru the part that screws into the headliner to a plug at or near where you screw the visor
to the headliner up inside the headliner.

Oh ok, I did think about that but then dismissed it thinking that there can't be wires in the support rods. I guess I should have detached it to check first before asking. Thanks for that.
